What Students Say
Likes
- The college has great practicals exposure with good lab facilities.
- Great internship opportunities and placements are given even if it's psychology background.
Dislikes
- The management could be better as the academic routine is unpredictable.
- The faculties could be better as most subjects need teachers with proper experience.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose this course because it particularly focuses on the clinical side of Psychology and I was always keen on learning about psychopathology. The exams are also very spread out making the students not stress about academics a lot. The practical exposure should be given and the assignments should include more research according to me.
Internships Opportunities
The internships provided has more clinical based exposure and lots of hospitals so we have a one on one practical knowledge and interactions making it easy for everyone to take an internship under the college itself. They provide it in Bangalore and Mysore mostly.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees are fair to the services provided and the increase isn't there atleast for this course. The complete cost of the course is 4 lakhs plus exam fees which is around 1.5k to 2k for every semester. Other than that there are no extra expenses. If you have scored well in your bachelors, selective students get scholarships.
Campus Life
The campus in Whitefield is very small so if you're expecting campus life, it's not much to be enjoyed. There are various sports teams with several intercollege events that can boost one's extracurricular activities. The various clubs are dance club, sports club, literature club, etc. The student elections are also very fair and gives students the opportunity to lead and manage various events.
Hostel Facilities
I have rented an apartment which is closer to the college but there is hostel for Jain University which provides daily bus service to the college and the food is great. Their services are great and the fees is almost around 2 lakhs per year.
Admission
One has to complete their bachelor's in psychology or psychology as one of their majors for taking admission in Clinical Psychology. . The admission is taken via online entrance test of Jain University and then an interview to assess your knowledge about the course. The admission process is very smooth so there isn't much improvement needed.
Faculty
The faculty is helpful and the communication is always well as they respond to any queries. There are no problems with the faculty's credentials but their approach to teaching could be better. The faculties are always very approachable and that's one great thing about Jain University.
