Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

Medicine is a ever evolving curriculum with new stuff being found every year. Most of the faculties have attained foreign fellowships and are up to date with any recent advances. This is reflected on their methodology of teaching and the content of the course. Clinical aspects of every subject are immensly focused upon and its relevance in a hospital setting is discussed extensively.

Internships Opportunities

4

We get a compulsory 1 year long rotational internship after our final proffs. We get to work in PBMH attached to our college. The stipend amount is 30k a month. The hospital provides for a good practice and learning atmosphere before we become full fledged doctors.

Fees and Financial Aid

For 2019 batch the fees were 18.25 lacs including hostel and mess fees for the year. The college does provide for education loan services. There is no campus employment scope as of yet. Though they pay 30k pm during internship for an year.

Campus Life

4.5

Kims being part of the kiit university means that there is a plethora of activities and fests taking place through out the year namely - KIIT fest taking place once a year along with the individual KIMS fest also once a year. The library is truly state of the art with a multitude of standard and foreign textbooks available. There is a lot of sports facilities and clubs which take care of them.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

Students are provided with a twin sharing ac room with attached bathroom from 1st year till internship. Hostel food is somewhat palatable. One can move outside and live in a rented accomodation after first year.

Admission

Neet ug examinees who have cleared the cutoff are eligible for admission. Admission takes place via the nmc portal every year during neet ug counselling. No reservation benefits. As NMC looks after the admission process nothing much can be improved about the admission process.

Faculty

3.5

Each department will have around a 20:1 student faculty ratio with some departments having a little more. Faculties are some renowned doctors of odisha and have been on the field for quite some time. Mentors are alooted every year from faculty roster and they are quite approachable.

The course that I chose is MBBS. Every aspirants know that how nobel this profession is. We are hearing of rumors like we'll be having NExT exam so according to that a little bit change is needed like shifting ophthalmology and ENT to final year and MCQ pattern for our exam. Difficulty level of exams is moderate. You get some basic questions. Some desirable to know type of questions

Course Curriculum Overview:

MBBS Course which is around 5.5 yr is very difficult course as it will make you a doctor which is on of the most prestigious profession .Here you not only read theory but practical aspect is also more important. Students deal with patients in hospitals while studying clinical subjects. Here whole course is divided in 3 proff+ internship for around 6 months . 3rd proff is around again divided into 2 phase . In each year you have to appear at least 3 internal exams and one university exam which consist of both theory and practical examination. To pass the exam you have to secure atleast 40% in theory and in practical separately and 50% aggregately.Teaching method given by NMC is quite effective and difficult also.

I chose it because I wanted money and respect which this course delivers. Teacher and student ratio is ok but nowadays there is a shortage of faculties, so pg students teach us sometimes. MBBS qualified and method is slide reading only. Term exams are on time but it's difficult u know it's mbbs it's tough. Passing is not always possible.

in AIIMS, students can get the best professors and doctors for their academics. AIIMS is autonomous so we are independent in our syllabus and exam which provide a standard over other colleges. the course curriculum strictly follows clinical knowledge which shapes us to be a good doctors in the future. some departments are very good in teaching like pharmacology, anatomy, pediatrics, biochemistry.
