Course Curriculum Overview

4

The most important thing where I got influenced to take admission in this university it's because of its ranking in India being and private institute and also the scholarship they provide on the basis of lpunest and also because of my elders cousins studying here. Now when I talk about the curriculum it runs according to ugc and it contains courses and subject which are running in the market and also we have more pressure on labs and practical courses even we do industrial training and internships for better improvement in our courses at the end classes from 9 to 5 which again contains hard practical and theoretical training throughout the semester.now when I talk about the areas of improvement it should reduce the number of classes and give students time for self study that's sit and they should hire faculty who have completed PhD .At the end when I talk about the frequency and timing of exams so we have regular ca and assignments we have mid terms and at the last end term in thisspan

Internships Opportunities

3.5

Intership depends from students to students so for that particular I can't comment but I heard from my senior one of them for internship in Amazon the other got in Hindustan times so overall its good and also u can go and find yourself

Placement Experience

3.5

When I talk about placements so the highest package was 3 crore which was got by only one student and average is 4 lakhs but that to vary if I tell I'm simple words placements depends in the range of 3lakhs to may be crores it may be 10 lakh 15 lakhs 12 lakhs it totally depends on the capability of the students but sales company are more if I talk about cse and core company also do come but again it's on the efforts of the students studying here but at the end most of them get placement what I have seen and other if I talk ak about other plans so student can go for off campus placements and also opt for higher studies abroad or in India and can also do business or other stuffs

Fees and Financial Aid

If I talk about the fee structure they provide scholarships based on lpunest which is conducted by the university also on the basis of your jee mains and class 12 results and this scholarship is throughout ur course not like other colleges now scholarship also have phases like phase 1 phase 2 phase 3 whereas phase 1 has the highest amount of scholarship with changes from time to time but stay updated with the Lpu official website for further details for example scholarship are 40% 30% 20 % etc amount on the fee of 1,20,000 and their are other scholarship like based on if u are from military background or northeast or Kashmir 5% more benefits then various government scholarship provided by the government schemes or Punjab government you can again look for exact name and information in the official website of lpu students can work part-time in the university that information is also displayed in their account if any such is available but according to me I got it very less time so better

Campus Life

5

Now if I talk about my overall experience it's great amazing because it gave me a wonderful platform the campus life is also amazing with good friends and surrounding the greenery all around and the campus size of 650acres it's a mini city inside the campus which has its own hospital fire station mall and much more and to keep students entertainment there are alot of events and functions running throughout the year at various places in campus we never get bored actually if I talk about the clubs there is a department named DSW a seperate building rather which only focuses on overall events and co-curricular activities of students which have different clubs like literary society music social fine arts society dance society drum and music society and much more overall its provides a great platform for fine arts students it provides opportunities till national and meeting which different celebrities of their field and also ehn I tak about the infrastructure it's huge with the campus size

Hostel Facilities

3

Now when I talk about the hostel facilities it's like chlo theek hai they have various rooms like 1 seater to 4 seater even 5 seater is available ac /non acs both kind of rooms are available in rooms we get bed geyser ac wardrobe and one table chair now when I talk about the mess I think every Hostel mess is same no words it's average but students can opt for canteen or quoiks stalls around the campus and I think if you stay in pg nearby that is cheap and also good food

Admission

Admission process is quite simple just go to the official website of lpu and get yourself registered full the required information and then pay the registration fee which is 1000 rupees and also u can get some code to reduce the amount form to 500 or 200 then apply for lpunest you can select the date and time accordingly to your convenience and sit for the exams the lpunest exams is conducted both center based and remote proctored based from your home which is given online after that u will receive the result after a week or two then u can will avail ur scholarship based on ur lpunest and then your portal will open to fill further documents and booking of hostel ,mess etc facilities and pay tuition fee then you can also opt for second chance of scholarship which is free and then they will alot u an admissions counselor which will call you and guide throughout now if the talk about the cutoff it is in 12 you have to get 60% to be eligible for the examination if you are doing engineering

Faculty

4

Now when I talk about the teachers so teachers are mostly mtech or may be pursuing PhD but also their are teachers who have done PhD from reputed institution like IIT and nit's teachers are good they teach with ppt as usually happens in every college some concepts we get to understand but maximum self study is beneficial everyone knows how engineering life is all about we hardly listen to lecture may be sometimes it's good but sometimes boring so we generally study form YouTube or library but overall teachers are good if you ask them they explain things well even after classes or during exams u can approach to them they are also available during exams and accordingly to my experience teachers are very friendly and good at explaining concepts if you hear them properly throughout the semester

Companies start coming summer internships in the 5th and 6th semester though ,CG cuts are imposed so very less students are elgible to sit for these companies, The real placement season is 7th and 8th semester and many companies visit campus for placements. around 60 percent students got placed in the recent placement drive. The major recruiters are: Oracle, CISCO, JPMC,Deloite,IBM,ZS etc.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I’d rate the curriculum like 7/10 in terms of relevance and comprehensiveness — it covers all the major CSE subjects like DSA, OS, DBMS, CN, AI, ML, Cloud, Cybersecurity basics, etc., and honestly that was one of the reasons I chose this course because at least the core subjects are solid even if PTU keeps some old-school stuff in the syllabus. The curriculum does prepare you for real-world stuff, but only to a point — like, if you focus on coding labs and projects you’ll be fine for internships, but if you depend only on classroom theory then it won’t help much because industry wants hands-on skills. For higher studies also it’s okay because theory depth in subjects like OS and DBMS is decent enough. But yeah, improvements are definitely needed — some subjects feel outdated, teachers should use more practical examples, and we need more real projects instead of copy-paste lab manuals; also some faculty teach directly from slides which gets boring fast. Exams come twice per semester (sessionals) plus the final end-sem around December/May; they’re mostly easy if you write long answers, but tricky if you rely only on understanding because PTU likes theory-heavy questions. Overall, the system works, but it could be way more practical and industry-focused.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.
