Course Curriculum Overview
Course curriculum of our college is much better than the other colleges, reason for that is , here they start teaching the core subjects from the beginning of the semester not like other prestigious colleges where you have to study chemistry and all in the first semester. The courses are flexible and completely relevent to the subject. Only problem with this is, here they really don't give alot of opportunities to do the practical on each and every topics. Though their are alot of labs built in but still they do not focus on the practical knowledge. Frankly speaking, after attending the college for four years, I have not gained any real world experience, maybe because I was more focused on getting job in IT sector. In our college we don't have a system of midsem and end sem instead we have components i.e c1, c2 and c3. Because of that the frequency of exams of each subjects increases alot. It's as if we are giving paper every month.
Internships Opportunities
Internship opportunity is available in third year for two month intern. Major hiring partners are salesforce, atlassian, saplabs, goldman sacks, intuit and many other companies. The hiring process is same that is coding round and interview round.
Placement Experience
Our college is prominently known for the campus placements. Students of third year are eligible for the two month intern opportunity and students of fourth year are eligible for the full time offer and six month intern as well. The highest package offered to the student is about 1 cr by a foreign firm and average package is nearly about 20-25 lakhs this year though it was higher previous year. Last year nearly every candidate got placed though this year only 80-85 percent of students secured placement.
Fees and Financial Aid
Since, the college is government therefore it has to abide by the rules of the central government, hence there is no any illegal hike in fees and all. The complete cost of my education is nearly 8 lakhs for four years. Scholarships are awarded to the toppers of the colley for a year and also students who are eligible to take scholarship from the government, they do. There is no such thing as campus employment for btech students.
Campus Life
The college hosts one technical fest called aparoksha in April, one cultural fest call effervescence in October on December (varible ,depending upon the duration of fight between the fest coordinator and dean) and one sports fest called asmita during march Or february. Library offers large variety of academic books. There are several active and efficient technical and cultural societies(as we call that) I was in the drama soc called rangtarangini( the best cultural society of the college).
Hostel Facilities
Hostel facility is much better than the other colleges. First and second year students get double sharing room whereas third and fourth year can allot single room as well. Cost of double sharing is around 6k -7k per semester and for single sharing is 12k -13k per semester. Mess facility is provided in every hostel. Food is average and requires Approvement. Hostel is available to each and every student and it is alloted along with semester fee.
Admission
Well since this is a government technical College the admission process is done according to the JEE paper and it's result. It's admission process is done on the basis of jee mains rank. And the cutoff goes from 3000 to 9000 for the general category where as for obc and sc/st it is much lower.
Faculty
Well, most of the professors are really interactive and effective. Some of them are eager to teach as well. But some of them really don't care. The ration of professor and student is much better since it is a small college with only three branches and nearly 450 students. Professors are available in their offices and helpful as well.
