Amity University Noida: A Detailed Review.

The course structure and design influenced me to choose this course. it is designed in such a manner that it encourages the students to understand the practical side of psychology. every semester, we at least have 6 practical experiments that we conduct. It's comprehensiveness and in depth syllabus prepares students well for masters also. Exams take place at the end of every semester in a timely level, and if one has gone through the syllabus and has an understanding about each topic, it is not diffficult at all.

There are intersnhips available but mostly in the psychology department, the internships are unpaid. We do get opportunites to work with psychologists and organisations offline or online. We also need to write term papers and research on your topic of interest.

For psychology, there is no placements available right after completion of bachelors. However, i plan on persuing my masters and then doctatrate in clinical psychology to practice as a liscenced clinical psychologist.

The tuition fees increases every year; in the first year it was 92500 per semester, in second year it is 97500 per semester. By the end of the course you will be spending about 7 Lakh. There are also scholarships available while joining. those who score more than 90% in their boards get 50% scholarship and those who score 95% and above, get 100% scholarship.

Many activities are held every year in the campus. The Amity Youth Fest (AYF) takes place every year in the month of march where different celebrity figures come and perform. Sangathan, the annual sports fest also takes place in Amity and provides a platform for the students to show their athletic skills. There are many other clubs such as dance, music and drama that the students can join after auditioning.

I stayed in the AC hostel, the room is quite small. The quality of the mess food is poor in quality. It costs 180000 PA and it includes accomodation and laundry (no food). There are many restrictions like you cannot own a kettle, induction etc so u cant cook food for yourself. and they dont allow you to order food from the outside on weekdays also. In other words, i had a poor experience with the hostel life.

As breifly mentioned earlier, the faculty members and quite helpful to the students. All Psychology professors hold their M.Phill and P.hd degrees and the asst. professors have completed their Masters and are persuing their P.hd. Their way of teaching doesn't just involve syllabus knowledge but also practical and real life insights. They have always been understanding, helpful and friendly towards the students.

During the admission i only went through personal interview (PI) in which they asked me basic questions like why i chose psychology and what all do i know about it. The PI is not difficult if you can answer the questions with confidence. The eligibility criteria for admission is 12th pass woth min 55%.
