Likes
- Galleries are good with projectors and air conditioners .and lot of students can be seated upto 200 .there are separate courts for playing games and indoor shuttle space and large indoor audit .
- Each department has a HOD, 1/2 Professors ,many assistant professors and pgs working together .different chapters dealt by different professors at the same time .strict attendance monitoring , no mass bunking , strict internals with schedules .
- Teaching is good . Ptofessors are medical practitioners so they are updated and share their clinical experience to improve our knowledge
Dislikes
- Hostels for first year students were no so proper ..for first few months so i ended up staying outside .later on main building rooms were alloted for hostlers tho.
- Overall its good ..college has good name because of strict administration and funding from previous students other organisations..
- Rules are strict ..timings for hostel closing is 8 after which u are not allowed into or out even in case of emergency . I dont dislike .its just like a problem bcoz sometime exceptionally we can be late eg dance practice or journey etc
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum schedule is prepared by NMC .this has to be followed by every medical college unfortunately there is new curiculum of logbooks , competencies etc from 2k19 .its still being in process of adapting so i feel the nmc expectations are not reached .the faculty to student ratio does not meet requirenments when it comes to clinical postings because lot of patients have to be treated at the same time ..mostly we are taught or cared by pgs .class hours are good .there is no problem with leactures .mcq based exams are not in practice .
Internships Opportunities
Internship is must in the hospital of ggh ..no student choice in state colleges .entire one year period , its very difficult but mandatory . Posted to different departments to experience as well as serve our purpose there . Refferes as interns or house surgeons we need to do whatever our faculty asks. Stipend is around 25k per month
Fees and Financial Aid
At the time of admission .i paid 24 k ..every year we have to pay from 15 to 20 k and prior to university exam , an exam fee upto 2000.there are scholarships for some eligible students ..collge office helps with this programme.
Campus Life
Freshers , festivals , annual fests , annual conferances , new year party everything is there ???? rangaraya is so student engaging college . Books are available but journals are available online Intermedics and college leagues if you are interested in sports Faculty is asking for student clubs but we are still im the beginning .
Admission
eet ug entrance exam is must .online counselling . I got 20000 all india and 670 state rank . Eligibility and cutoffs varies evey year based on exam difficulty and no of students etcl Admission process takes an entire day if many students appeared once Required documents are explained online after counselling Exams are difficult , three internals per year Hope admision process becomes easier if roll no are pre alloted and roll no wise admission is done by alloting a particular day and time instead of welcomimg everyone in a given 4 days at once like a crowd
Faculty
Students are more in number . I feel its difficult to control and manage such a big number ..its difficult for one professor to draw attention of 200 people or to ensure their presence of mind during lecture .but since it been in practice for long time..they may be experienced . Faculty is skilled .they prepare ppts and add pictures, information ..updated ..vedios . Weekly interactive sesions like aetcom are present .everyday students should interact , present case in clinical postings its mandatory for mbbs student to learn actively everyday.
