Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum for BTech Computer Engineering so far for the Freshman year is okay. The academically autonomous status of the college enables the college to set the curriculum aligning with the current industry needs and removing the materials that aren't that necessary for the curriculum. It also simultaneously helps in reducing the stress of studying irrelevant things. However, there could be a place for improvement in maintaining the ratio of the course content to the hours allotted to teach the same. The frequency and the timings of the exams based on the difficulty level is okay.
Internships Opportunities
The college encourages students to take up internships during their semester breaks. The VIII semester of the course is solely based on the internship you do and it is graded based on the report that you submit.
Placement Experience
Various companies like Tata Technologies, CtrlS, and Deloitte visited the campus for placements. The placement rate isn't that great. The majority of hiring was done by Tata Technologies and CtrlS with an average package of 4-5LPA.
Fees and Financial Aid
The complete cost for the first year was around 140000 and revolves around the same amount for the rest of the years as well. There are no restrictions in availing any kind of scholarship be it private or government. I haven't undertaken any campus employment so far so have no clear idea about it.
Campus Life
The campus life at PCE is at its peak. You can interact with seniors gaining valuable guidance from them. The 'Alegria' is the biggest college fest in the whole of Navi Mumbai. Along with Alegrai, many other festivals are also conducted like Tech Alegria which was started this year. Along with the social life, PCE also offers a library housing a vast collection of books, journals, and periodicals spanning diverse disciplines which can be issued with just your admission number. The college also encourages sports and extracurricular activities. There are various clubs and groups run by students like Benchmark(The official music group), and Reccross(The Official Dance club).
Admission
For BTech (Computer Engineering) you have to either good marks in JEE or CET. For non-minority students, the cutoff is usually above 93% for CET. For offline applications (Management Quota) you can contact the Engineering Office once your 12th exams are over. Application dates can be found on the college's official website. The admission process is smooth and hassle-free.
Faculty
The first year boasts a favourable faculty-to-student ratio which enhances the learning experience. Also, the faculty members are highly knowledgeable in their respective fields. They do hold impressive academic and professional credentials. They are approachable and supportive, readily available to address any doubts or concerns.
