What Students Say
Likes
- As a female, I highly appreciate the safety of women maintained in the campus, as well as the measures ensured while going out. The hostels are immensely safe for female students, which I highly admire.
- I love the different types of subjects we get to study every year, from electronics to maths to foreign language to the different programming languages in my course- CSE.
- I appreciate the lab facilities a lot, and the system of grading in my college, which is relative grading for subjects and absolute for labs. Due to relative grading, even in cases of strict correction or difficult paper, the student doesn't suffer.
Dislikes
- I personally don't prefer the extreme system of strict malpractice checking. I have myself been falsely accused once for suspected malpractice when it later got clearly proven that I was innocent.
- I wish invigilators would put right effort into students who actually commit to malpractice and not the innocent ones.
- We have exams literally every month- a little too harsh, perhaps?
Course Curriculum Overview
I appreciate the fact that in my course- CSE with spealisation AI and Robotics, I am being taught mainly on the computer based courses like the different programming languages. I just completed my first year here and I already have detailed knowledge on four programming languages. We also have basic science courses and maths. English is provided in the first year courses, which will help us in real world letter and report writings, or if somebody wants to do a part-time job based on content writing. The CSE courses are really essential for placement and internships. We have exams almost every month which is a little tiring but I like the fact that apart from our finals, we have an unseen CAT1 and an open book CAT2 exams. I like the way the exams are conducted.
Internships Opportunities
As of now I am not really aware of how internships work. But my seniors have received opputunities from companies like Microsoft, TCS Bangalore, Corizo and more in technical fields. I have also seen immense number of marketing interns as well. I feel, you just need to check your mails and be a little aware for availing internships! I am looking forward to it!
Placement Experience
From the fifth semester, students become eligible for placements. I am as of now not aware of how and what the procedures are, since Im just in 1st year but I have relatives and I have seen an approx 8.19 lpa package to the average crowd every year. Students of 1st year onwards can go for internships.
Fees and Financial Aid
I feel like the tuition fee should be reduced considering the gpa of the student in the college. Students who score well should be provided scholarship oppurtunities for their future semester tuition fees. I am not satisfied with the fact that a student's tuition fee is only based on what rank they got when they entered this college as a fresher. I haven't considered any employment situations right now, because I just completed my first year, but I am looking forward to it.
Campus Life
I love the campus life and the environment. I love the greenery and the clean air. We have technovit fest in october as well as vibrance in march every year. Rides, events, fests, stalls, markets and club activities fill the campus entirely with their amazing atmosphere. The facilities in the classrooms are commendable and the sports and extracurricular activities are provided in form of clubs. I have personally participated in a marathon arranged by the college during vibrance and I will always cherish the memory so much. I love the interview system of the clubs too.
Hostel Facilities
I am in a 4 bed ac room. Though I would want the hostel to provide us AC 24/7 specially during summers, overall it's okay. Meal quality and menu is really nice if you choose the right mess for you. The registration process happens on basis of gpa which I feel is really deserving and good.
Admission
I didn't avail any benefits. The VIT exam centre alloted to me in my state was really dissatisfactory, but I beleive that the college isn't connected to it. However, the admission process and ranking method was pretty smooth. I dont suggest any improvements as of now. I loved the orientation and the other activites we had before our classes began.
Faculty
1 faculty is normally for about a 60 students. We have the right to choose our own faculty and prefered slot during ffcs slot booking, which is nice. Different faculty have different approach to teaching and mentorship. If chosen properly, you might get the excellent teachers for your entire year, which I did! Few teachers are difficult to approach, but you can always go to their cabin and seek any kind of help you want, which I personally like. I could visit my teacher's cabin and submit my assignments and lab records which maybe I couldn't complete in class hours.
