Course Curriculum Overview

4

Till now,I found the curriculum not that great but yes it is on the better side of things. They teaches us a new language in every semester that includes python , c ,c++ , java . courses are also given on dsa , operating system and networking that is a standard approch in computer science but after that to keep with the trends new courses of generative ai is also been added and quite a number of minors are also provided that literally covers everything including languages and foreign studies.

Internships Opportunities

3

For Internship recommendation letters are given to those students who scored well in their programming courses but other than that no internship opportunities are provided until you opt for their placement program of 16000 and after that they many tell you abput some and lrt you sit in the placements. Placement for the most students is about 3-4 lakh per annum only and the exceptions gets 40-64 lakhs.

Placement Experience

3

from 6th semester onwards students are eligible for placement, the campus do pushes the students for the placement if they are under the certain criterias including backlogs and cgpa. they are quite a number of companies offering placements including Microsoft, ibm, amazon , adobe and other suck mncs though the amount of students picked is again very few. highest oackage of all time is 3 crore and no of offer mades every year is more than 5000 for btech alone. about 40-50% of students do get placed and i am planning to get the degree and crack a off - campus placement

Fees and Financial Aid

tution fee are contant fromt he time you enter the campus for you the newer batch may see a spike of 10000 nore than you. i am paying around 84000 but my actual fee is 120000 without scholarship current bagch is around 150000 after the university gets a high naac score. the hostel fee though is incresibg by 10000 per year. and mess charges by 4000 that is now 38000 for three meals per year . and hostel is about 100000 for a 4 seater attached washroom ac rooms, total charges that brings about 50000 per year after including the examination fees and such. everyone can get a scholarship of which the plans keep on changing according to the time you took admission . thought it ranges from 8% to 38% for btech, this is given on basis of lpunest exam or board or your jee score no other way to secure schooargip is present. i have yet to take any employment thorugh campus but i may do in nearby future , beachse if you have skills campus do provide enough opportunity to grap a placement

Campus Life

4

for campus life there is a seperate building you can vissit which is full of clubs and societies and if you become a part of it you get notified to volunteer and participate in all sort of festivals happeing at all the times throughtout the campus that you may want to organise too. Sport factors is all top-notch if you already have some qualification on the sport factor they will push ypu to the olympics level the coaches are top notch and lpu have the best courts and even the swimming pool of real olympics level.

Admission

Admissions in this university is quite easy anyone can get a admission as long as they fill the lpu nest exams online and attempt the test , they will definitely get the admission , as it is online it is happening very frequently and there are no reservations benefits for any sort of students. for the improvement part though they should make the exams more difficult and reduce the number of seats open for the admission

Faculty

3.5

the facult to student ration must be around one faculty on every 250 students for my branch for a single batch of 72 we get a teacher and it doesn't impact our learning experience. for the approach of teaching and qualifications leaving aside the top cream in the teacher that includes the head of departments all the other are not that well in teaching part. most of the teachers rely on pre-assigned ppts given to them for teaching instead of teaching by their own style.

Companies start coming summer internships in the 5th and 6th semester though ,CG cuts are imposed so very less students are elgible to sit for these companies, The real placement season is 7th and 8th semester and many companies visit campus for placements. around 60 percent students got placed in the recent placement drive. The major recruiters are: Oracle, CISCO, JPMC,Deloite,IBM,ZS etc.

NITJ has a placement cell, also known as the Centre of Training and Placements(TPO office of NITJ). The placement scenes differ depending on the courses offered. The average placements are 12-14LPA in the Computer Science branch. Every year, hundreds of companies, including Pvt and govt both. PSUs like HPCL and BPCL recruit students based on merit and academic excellence.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I’d rate the curriculum like 7/10 in terms of relevance and comprehensiveness — it covers all the major CSE subjects like DSA, OS, DBMS, CN, AI, ML, Cloud, Cybersecurity basics, etc., and honestly that was one of the reasons I chose this course because at least the core subjects are solid even if PTU keeps some old-school stuff in the syllabus. The curriculum does prepare you for real-world stuff, but only to a point — like, if you focus on coding labs and projects you’ll be fine for internships, but if you depend only on classroom theory then it won’t help much because industry wants hands-on skills. For higher studies also it’s okay because theory depth in subjects like OS and DBMS is decent enough. But yeah, improvements are definitely needed — some subjects feel outdated, teachers should use more practical examples, and we need more real projects instead of copy-paste lab manuals; also some faculty teach directly from slides which gets boring fast. Exams come twice per semester (sessionals) plus the final end-sem around December/May; they’re mostly easy if you write long answers, but tricky if you rely only on understanding because PTU likes theory-heavy questions. Overall, the system works, but it could be way more practical and industry-focused.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.
