Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The choice of my course was purely based on my interest for coding. Got in through KCET. They prepare us to face real-world problems, they have many activities that they conduct, in which they teach us how to solve the given problem statement. There is an improvement needed in terms of the industrial visits, the frequency of these should be increased in order to make the subject more interesting. The internals are timed once a month, with a medium difficulty level. The semester end exams will be on the tougher side.

Internships Opportunities

3

As I am currently in the 2nd year, I'm not really eligible for any internships or campus placements yet. But I've heard, that the internship opportunities are pretty vast here & they provide good on campus internships, from my seniors.

Placement Experience

3

The students are eligible for campus placements from the 6th semester. The minimum CGPA requirement is 7 without backlogs for the campus placements. Companies like TCS, Bosch, SAP, Mercedes Benz, etc visit the campus for recruitment. The highest package offered was 20-26 LPA from SAP & the average packages offered are 4-6 LPA. About 80-90% of students get placed (except during recession). My plans after getting the degree is to do my masters in USA.

Fees and Financial Aid

The tution fee for the general merit students who come from KCET is approximately 1L per year (2 semesters), For the comedk students it is approximately 2.5L per year(2 semesters). There is no such hike in fee as far as I have noticed. The eligible students are provided with scholarships from the college, one such program is the SSP scholarship. As I am still in the second year, I am not aware of the campus employment yet.

Campus Life

2.5

The campus life here is average. There are not many clubs that are available or even active. The cultural club is called "Kalaparva" which is not very active, but is filled with extremely talented people. "Interact" is our annual fest, where in we all have a lot of fun with all the cultural & sport activities. Sports is give minimal interest, but yet there are many students you've achieved a lot in both sports & cultural fields.

Admission

The eligibility for the course is 10+2 (PCM compulsory). The cut-off for my branch (ISE) was 24000 in 2022 in the second extended round. Once I got allotted the seat, the admission process was smooth, had to submit the documents required by the college & was admitted at ease.

Faculty

4.5

The faculty at GAT are pretty good I'd say. They're all well experienced & are very knowledgeable. Their teaching methodology is different yet effective. The teacher to student ratio is good too, almost each student gets to interact with faculty & clear their doubts. All the students are provided with their mentors & are advised to talk to them regarless of the issue they are facing. The interaction with the faculty is good, as the faculty communicate with the students well.

Placement Experience:

Placements at RNS Institute of Technology are good. Students become eligible for campus placements from the 6th or 7th semester. Many companies visit the college, including IT and core companies. Some of the common recruiters include TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Accenture, and a few core companies for EEE. The average package is around 3 to 5 LPA, and higher packages are also offered for top-performing students. The highest package can go much higher depending on the company. Around 70–80% of students get placed, mainly in IT roles. For EEE students, core placements are limited, but there are good opportunities in software roles. The college also provides training and support for placements. After completing my degree, I plan to get placed in a good company and build my career.
