IIT BBS & it's life

The course contents are same as that of IIT Kharagpur as that is it's mentor institute. The curriculum looks after the overall development and growth of students and provides an extensive knowledge about the concepts. The curriculum challenges the students to push beyond their limits and explore the unknown.

The institute being a premier ones boasts a good amount of placement. Almost every year it provides more than 85% placement for all the branches and 100% of selective branches too. The companies where the students are placed are also reputed ones and get well paid jobs

For the Masters there in the AICTE scholarship which students avail after qualifying GATE examination. For B. tech also there are some schemes. The fees structure is lower than many institutions for Masters which makes it affordable and efficient.

IIT BBS has multiple fests. They are held during the year round. Also the library is well maintained and provides more than enough facilities. The sports and extra curricular activities are also fun and provides a wide range.

The institute provides hostel facility and dosent allow students to stay outside the campus. The payment for hostel is done at the admission time itself and on showing the receipt rooms are alloted. The hostel is relatively new and provides ample amount of space for accomodation. It is fitted with multiple elevators as it's a 7 storied building. The mess is also very spacious holding a capacity of 800 students at the same time. The food quality is also good.

The masters course selects it's students from the GATE examination followed by a PI. The selection is wholly based on merit. Students can avail the reservation benefits as their choices. Every year after the results for GATE are announced the brochure mentioning all the details about admission can be found on their website.

The faculty in IIT BBS is very highly educated and qualified from reputed institutes from all over the world. They have a indepth understanding about the topics and know how to do the job. They are not only very approachable but also provides enough opportunities for the students to express themselves.

The selection procedure for Mtech is first a cutoff based selection is done for written test and PI. We have to be physically present in the respective departments for the written test. On selection in the test we will be called for PI. The PI is conducted by respective professors of the departments and one selection the result is displayed in COAP. The PI and written tests needs no extra preparation other than what we did for GATE exam.
