Remarks

I feel the college with so much positive aspect couldn't have survived if there wasn't proper management. We students are treated like children of own by our teachers. We are adored by them. I wont ever in my life forget my college.

Entrance Preview

Actually there wasn't any entrance test to get qualified. I got admission on the merits bases. I choose BMM ( mass media) to follow my passion for journalism. It gave a wider knowledge of the field.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

This course is a self- financed three year course. We had 6 semesters. With 6 subjects in each semester. That means 36 subjects at the end of 3 year. One actually gets a overall knowledge of every thing. Somaiya has a Head of department and brings in the most experienced teachers for theory subjects and industry experts for practical subject.

Internships Opportunities

I have done many internships in the three year course. I have worked with Pudhari a regional newspaper in Maharashtra. Then my reviews about news stories were published in Hindustan Times Newspaper for almost 5-6 times. I did an work from home content development internship with ambition box website. And then i took up many small internships that had content writing work.

Placement Experience

4

Somaiya offers good placements. My seniors are placed in News channel like Spine TV, Maharashtra Times, DNA newspaper. etc.

College Events

4.5

Somaiya conducts 3-4 festivals every year that are huge enough. As we have a advantage of a big campus we can hold in much crowd in our campus itself. Lamhein, Flair, Megahertz(Bmm fest) etc.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Somaiya has hostels for engineering and management students. The fees are a bit high but the Mess food that is served is of top quality no doubt.

Fees and Financial Aid

Women free ship is available. I have myself availed it. I dont know about other availability.

Campus Life

5

I can proudly say My campus has, 55% women, 45% men. We have Gujarati Minority but there is never a distinction on bases of caste or religion. I m studying in somaiya since last 5 years and I bet there is no other college with such a diversity. We follow decent dress code. Inside the campus there has never been any crime or reports about harassment. The campus has good vibes.

Alumni/Alumna

I am in my final year and the senior fresher relation is note worthy. We zero tolerance to ragging, policy in our campus. We treat our juniors like younger brother or sister and take care of them. I feel this is hierarchical, no one ragged us and there isn't any feeling of revenge to rag our juniors.

Placement Experience:

so do we get placement in our college? From first year to third year, placement is given every year. In the first year, internship is given. First job opportunities start coming which keep coming for some time. A group of college is formed. Whatever information or requirement comes regarding placement is given in that group. yes, he keeps putting it. Then you have to give interview according to that, if you get selected then that is good enough, if not then you can fill out any other form that will come up in some other place by feeling safe

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course. It helped me in my personality building and also I learned new things like- Video and photo editing, handling cameras, communication skills, Acting, Advertisement writing and shooting, and many more. Class strength is good as they allow 25-30 students for one course. Faculties were too supportive and masters of their own fields. They take 2 internals and 1 final exam at the end of the semester which is of 6 months.

Placement Experience:

Form third year students become eligible for campus placement. Many reputed companies like times of India hindustan times visited our college and got various students selected based on their caliber. The average package here is a around 5-10 Lakh per annum. Only those students who are talented enough for any post get selected for particular job. I'm planning to do a internship in popular media House.
