What Students Say?
Likes
- Admission Process: Quick and simple process. The procedure usually finishes quickly and kick-starts the classes way before other colleges.
- Fests and Programmes: There are a lot programmes and fests for students to exhibit their unique skills and talents.
Dislikes
- Hostel facilities: The hostels needs to be improved. The facilities are less and the rules of these hostels are far from fair.
- Students Intake: The student intake is less. Part of this problem is already fixed this year by opening admission for girls in many boys only courses.
Course Curriculum Overview
The system of education is outcome-based. That's something I find attractive in the curriculum. There will be specific outcomes listed and students are evaluated on the level of their achievement of those outcomes. The frequency of semester exams are 4-5 months. Basically 2 semester exams in one year.
Placement Experience
Students from 2nd year UG and PG programmes are eligible for placements. There is Placement Assistance Cell to coordinate the placement programmes. Companies like Accenture, Federal Bank, ESAF, MRF, etc are some companies that regularly hire students. I'm also looking for a placement in one of these companies.
Fees and Financial Aid
As part of admission a considerable amount is paid and then fees are collected yearly. Besides tuition fee , fees like exam fees, union fees, etc are collected. Scholarships and financial aids are available for specific category of students.
Campus Life
Looking at fests and programmes at college, annually there is college day, union day, arts day, sports day, ethnic day, etc. Also over the course of years an exhibition called SAMVIT is conducted. The last SAMVIT exhibition was conducted as part of the centenary celebrations of the college. Also fests like Zrishti, Impressions, Expressions, Berchnova, are also conducted. The college have one of the state's largest library (Central Library). An e-library is also active as part of this. Clubs like Arts club, Debate Club, Quiz Club, Library Club, ASPIC Club, etc are active in the campus. Other bodies like IEDC, Team Excellence, PAC, NSS, NCC, BEDA, plays a huge role enhancing the campus life.
Admission
Students who graduated from science programmes at plus-two level with marks above 75 percentage where eligible for the course. The application forms and all related details were available at the college website. The admission process was quick and was simple. The college staff deserves the credit for the excellence in this procedure.
