Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

This course is a good course and I think civil and environmental engineering is better than taking civil engineering. I'm now going with sem 2 so I hadn't started the core . The exams are very tough and it is very difficult to get good ranks.

Internships Opportunities

2.5

Actually I haven't attended anu intership being a first year . But I get to know that the college provides intership via department hod's . Students can also go for intership of there own . Seniors are also helpfull especially those who have diploma . They have more knowledge and are friendly and helpful .

Placement Experience

4.5

There are campus placement for other courses but for civil and environmental engineering there is no placement as it is not acridited . It's is the newest course in the college only two batch of students are there . Civil and environmental engineering gives a large opportunity including goverment jobs.

Fees and Financial Aid

Tution fees is affordable. I had to spend 9640 /- per year as tution fee in addition to exam fees that will be around 2500/-. Hostel fee will be 3000 or maximum 4500 per month. There are many scholarships for students including E-grantz and many more . There are many technical groups including gbots(concentrate in robotics)IEEE, IST etc... we can take membership and accordingly we will get more responsibility with respect to our position and there are so many volenteer jobs that pay to credits .

Campus Life

5

There are many events and celebrate like Diwali , youth fest, valentine's day, Halloween day ,holi, and many more . The college has a large library with more than 1000 books and other part of library is a quiet room were students can read and study peacefully. Many class room contain projector and many contain digital television with touch screen . Sport and arts are very active . There are many clubs including social groups example KARMA that help students with poor economic background with their fees.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

There are limited seat for students in government hostel so there is allotment each year. Allotment is based on annual income , distance and sgpa . The government hostel is every nice ,every good room . The corridor and bathroom are cleaned everyday by goverment staffs .The government hostel provide best meal compared to other private hostels. Weekly 4 day they provide chicken and veg menu is also good . Breakfast included poori, idli , puttu , bread and egg etc the menu is flexible according to the needs of students . It's is decided by frequent meeting contected in hostel itself. There are many private hostels nearby for students who didn't get hostel . There is college bus for hostelers and day scholars.

Admission

12 pass with above 55 % and KEAM pass with a good rank . The first application is for KEAM exam it's is around 1000 and after the result had published you have to pay 2000 rupees for placing allotment options . There are many reservation sc/st /la/ma/and many more and it's a benefit for students. The criterias of KEAM exam had been changed till last year it was an offline exam its consist of two exam . Students can write exam according to the course they are choosing for engineering they have to write both the examinations .it was conducted in FN andAN , forenoon it's is physics and chemistry examination and afternoonaths exams. But luckly I have heard things had changed and now the cam is online. The exam is also difficult as other competative exams but it is easy if studied well. The most important is examination. Prepare well for the exams get a better rank so that one can apply for their favoured college. Be aware of courses you can join with your rank .

The placement here is top notch. This year in my campus the highest CTC offered was 56.5lpa by PALOALTO. Placements process is centralised at coimbatore though. Students are eligible for campus placements from third year or s5. Average package in computing department ranges from 10-12lpa. My plans after degree is to pursue MS: opportunities of which are provided by the college itself. In computing department almost 90% of the students have been placed according to the seniors I talked to. However it is lower in other streams.

Civil engineering is a course with least placement in every engineering colleges. Students are placed during their fourth year in college. Sobha Constructions Ltd is one of the main companies that visits college. 200000rupees package is the average package offered. Les than 25 percent civil engineers get placed. I plan to prepare for GATE exam and pursue more in this course.
