Course Curriculum Overview
The mbbs course is a relatively long course. It lasts for 5 years including one year internship. The course material is relatively extensive and requires alot of self study and and long hours of dedicated study. The clinical aspects of medicine and surgery and other subjects are taught well by the teachers during rounds and ward classes.
Internships Opportunities
1 year internship in all the various clinical departments giving good exposure and practise. Also in private and rural medical institutions .Close guidance by professors and pg students. Long working hours and demanding schedule
Fees and Financial Aid
There has been no hikes in the tution fees of the college in the recent past as it is a government medical college. Per year the tution fees costs 25000/- and books have to be bought by the students by themselves and cost a hefty amount of money as there are a large number of books required for all the subjects of this course. There are various opportunities to gain clinical exposure in the years before house surgency in wards and casualty.
Campus Life
College arts fest, Kerala University arts fest, Intermedicos kerala arts fest held almost yearly with good participation and merit certificates add marks to final university total. Library open daily with wifi ,computers etc. College and university sports meets held yearly. Many clubs and study groups available
Hostel Facilities
2 person per room. Two fans and lights per room. Washing machines available. Can use induction cookers. Free wifi .4 meals a day with changing menu and separate veg and non veg options. Registeration to hostel easy. Rented rooms available within 1-2km radius of College
Admission
Admidsion to mbbs course was through an national exam neet. The exams cutt off mark was 50%. But to obtain admission in a good government college was 600 out of total 720. The exam was held yearly around may and april. But for our year it was postponed due to covid .
