The surrounding is serene and teh air is pure. Beautiful views and nice infrastructure.
The views and vistas are very pleasing .
The campus is very big and roaming around is fun.

Dislikes

The timing of girls hostes is 8 pm we can't even roam inside the university premises
Struggles while trying to go on a 1 day trip somewhere

Course Curriculum Overview

Architecture is a very balanced course including both creativity and science this was the most intriguing thing for me. In this course we get to do internship in the 7th semester which somewhat prepares us for the outer world also there are subjects related to improving our communication skills. The exams are held timely as 2 minors and 1 major and the difficulty level is well set.

Class Size: 17Course Fees: INR 125000 per year

Internships Opportunities

In architecture different students get places id very different firms. As we are told to keep are portfolio ready and also keep an eye on the company we want to work for....so that we can make designs accordingly and improve our portfolio.

Placement Experience

Since i am in architecture i don't know much about placements because in here we do internship in our 7th sem and most students try to pursue higher education. Some are offered the job during internship only.

Fees and Financial Aid

The department is very nice and scholarships are available for the studious ones. The complete amount of education can range from 8 lakhs to 15 lakhs for 5 years depending upon the method of enrollment and the amount of scholarships earned.

Campus Life

The fests are titiksha the tech fest mostly held in may, sarang the sports fest and resurgence the cultural fest. The library is full of materials also the digital library . Classrooms have projectors. Sports and activities are conducted time to time. There are many clubs that are active and help in overall development

Hostel Facilities

There are 3 types of rooms singlet, doublet and triplet. Each room has assorted amount of beds and study tables and wardrobes. The mess menu is bearable. The hostels are very affordable. The registration process is very easy and gets done while registering for the university

Hostel Fee: INR 20000 per year

Admission

I gave jee paper 2 and got the college in the last round of josaa counselling. What i didn't like was that the process was a bit confusing. Other than that the process was very smooth, when i got to this university the admission procedure was very smooth

Course Curriculum Overview:

I was always enthusiatic about design and maybe it was the driving factor in me choosing this course. The course is really well planned in this industry things only start to make sense after you start working on the ground. I would like to suggest to introduce a course on comunication for the student because i think its a aspect a majority of them lacks.

Collage provides you with placement and pre placement opportunities tho architecture and few other courses does not have this facility and one has to search for jobs on its own. The placement opportunities are good and allows big companies like Amazon take students from the university.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Architecture course is more about creativity and practicality unlike other courses like B.TECH, BBA, ECONOMICS, ETC. which are available at this university. The faculty: student ratio is also quite good and the intake of students is less at this university. So the teachers are also able to concentrate on each student individually. The faculty currently in the architecture department is also highly qualified, most of the faculty members are either professionally working architects or have at least a master's degree from the best institutes in the country like IITs, SPAs, etc. As said before, architecture is more about practicality, so the faculty also emphasises practical work rather than just giving bookish knowledge. The term exams are quite easy and there is not much difficulty in passing them, but the main focus of students as well as teachers is on the jury held at the end of every semester.

SMVDU and it's Truth

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course because it is pretty interesting and challenging at the same time. You have to complete all your assignments, and design problems before the deadline and it is quite hectic. The faculty here is very friendly and hardworking. They give their best to teach us in every possible way. The student ratio in my class is 50:50. The faculty of architecture is well qualified with master's and PhD. There are three exams (Minor 1, Minor 2, Major exams) and one jury (only in architecture) in a semester.

Remarks:

The college life is great. There is scenic beauty all around the campus. It is like a dream campus. The negatives are that there are curfew for girls students to enter hostel gates at 8:00 pm while none for boys. There are rules of not wearing shorts in hostel mess for girls.

Nice and Unbiased review of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University Katra

I have applied in many colleges and I also get seat in them but the only reason I use assembly because the college is close from my home. Just because of travelling purposes I choose this college. The admission process in our college is not very difficult. The only way to get admission in the college by csab counselling and by college internal counselling.The cut off of the branch is 60 percentile for general students.
