Course Curriculum Overview
Architecture course is more about creativity and practicality unlike other courses like B.TECH, BBA, ECONOMICS, ETC. which are available at this university. The faculty: student ratio is also quite good and the intake of students is less at this university. So the teachers are also able to concentrate on each student individually. The faculty currently in the architecture department is also highly qualified, most of the faculty members are either professionally working architects or have at least a master's degree from the best institutes in the country like IITs, SPAs, etc. As said before, architecture is more about practicality, so the faculty also emphasises practical work rather than just giving bookish knowledge. The term exams are quite easy and there is not much difficulty in passing them, but the main focus of students as well as teachers is on the jury held at the end of every semester.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee structure is 132000 for the tuition fee for the whole year, around 22000 for the hostel fee annually, around 20000 for the mess fee annually and around 17000 for the annual charge. The scholarship is offered by the university itself. To avail of the scholarship there are 2 ways. 1st is by getting a good rank in JEE Mains paper 2 from which you can get a scholarship of 3 semesters if your all-India rank is below 3000 and a scholarship of 5 semesters if your all-India rank is below 1000. Another way to obtain a scholarship is through merit in your academics. If you can maintain your semester CGPA above 8.5 and you are in the top 10% of the students in the class, you are eligible for the academic scholarship. Both JEE and academic scholarships cover the entire semester's tuition fee i.e. 66000.
Campus Life
Life on campus is quite ok. The main positive aspect of this campus is the natural beauty and the view of Vaishno Devi shrine directly visible from the campus itself. There are 2 main fests held by the university, i.e. Titiksha (main fest) and saarang (sports fest). The library has a wide variety of books and reading space. The amenities in architecture classrooms are having a computer lab of its own and model-making materials. The classrooms are divided into 2 parts, studio and lecture hall. Main sports and extracurricular activities in the campus include football, cricket, volleyball, basketball, lawn tennis, table tennis and gym. All the main clubs like e-cell, b-cell, music and dance club, coding club, etc are run in the university.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel facility is quite moderate. There are 6 boys hostel and 2 girls hostel. The rooms are single sharing, double-sharing and triple sharing at max. depending on the hostel you get. Electronic devices like electrical kettles, and induction stoves are not allowed in the hostel rooms. The quality of meals provided in the also quite moderate. One special meal is provided every 3-4 weeks in the hostel. Although the menu of the mess is somewhat diverse but still the quality is still moderate and the mess is pure vegetarian. The regression process for acquiring a hostel is also quite easy and simple but there are PGs outside the campus as well. The annual hostel fee is around 22000 and the annual mess fee is around 20000
Admission
The admission process was quite easy and the administration was also very supportive and helpful throughout the process of admission. In architecture, there are 2 ways to get into this college, first through JEE mains paper 2 and the other through NATA. The application form is required only for NATA students, JEE students can get direct admission through JoSAA and CSAB counselling. The intake of students in architecture is a maximum of 40 students per batch and the reservation is 50%. An added benefit for the JEE students is that they get a scholarship of 3 semesters if their rank is below 3000 and a scholarship of 5 semesters if their rank is below 1000.
