Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The curriculum is robust, offering ample opportunities to enhance creativity and skills. While the teaching quality is mixed, it balances out during the overall evaluation process. Some instructors excel in their teaching methods, while others are satisfactory. Assessments are held twice per semester, with mid-term evaluations and end-of-semester examinations. However, the exam schedule can be challenging, as tests are frequently scheduled back-to-back.

Internships Opportunities

3.5

College allow you to do internship in 7 th semester of B.Arch course and I am not sure about other courses . They provide certain conditions for choosing firms etc. for the internship and it is ok if you are stipend or not stipend.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure at SPAV is contingent upon both the academic year and the category of admission. As an OBC category student, my annual fees approximate 1.35 lakh rupees including hostel and mess fee. While I'm uncertain about the availability of scholarships, to the best of my knowledge, the college doesn't offer any. However, it's worth noting that stipends are provided for master's and PhD students. For precise details regarding fees and financial assistance, I recommend referring to the SPAV website at https://spav.ac.in/.

Campus Life

4.5

SPAV's campus life is lively with the annual "Inyan" celebration being a highlight. We joyfully celebrate festivals like Onam, Ganesh Chaturthi, and Holi and many more. Active clubs cater to diverse interests, including dance, music, and sports. In sports, SPAV won the 2024 Inter-SPA Championship, boasting facilities like running track, football and basketball and volleyball courts. Each classroom is equipped with projectors and whiteboards, and master's classrooms have air conditioning. The campus also features two computer labs and a central library, although I find the library atmosphere may be lacking , it offers a substantial collection of books.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

Hostel facilities are good. They give double sharing room for first and second yrs and from third yr they provide single rooms. This may vary since the no. Of students admitting have been increased. They give a bed , cupboard, and a table for a student. Since our campus is small hostel mess and campus is closely located. Mess food is average. Same menu for every week

Admission

In 2021, admission to the Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch) program at SPA was primarily based on candidates' scores in Paper 2 of the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main, focusing on mathematics, drawing, and architectural awareness. The cut-off scores for JEE Main varied, with the minimum qualifying score determined by SPA. For instance, the cut-off rank for general and OBC categories was approximately 516 and 420, respectively. Eligibility for the B.Arch course required candidates to pass the 10+2 examination with mathematics and obtain a minimum aggregate score (typically 50% or above). Additionally, they needed to qualify in the JEE Main Paper 2 exam with the required cut-off score.SPAfollows the government's reservation policy for admissions, including categories such as SC,ST,OBC,EWS,and PwD. The percentage of seats reserved for each category may vary. Besides JEE Main scores, SPA may consider additional criteria like portfolio evaluations, or interview So refer spav brochure

Course Curriculum Overview:

I basically opted because it's no MPC tho there's a little maths it's still manageable because it is school level. It does prepare well for the real world but I wish it doesn't only stick traditionality but also international since graduated students can't directly intern in foreign countries unless they do masters over there. Design exams are 5hrs and others are 3hrs. You might find it difficult if you didn't do research on the respective topic otherwise you're always good to go. Frequency is moderate for exams. I wish faculty is kire about what to bring in a student rather than leaving us to figure out on our own and giving a hand full of time than less time and more work

Placement Experience:

The students are eligible for placements after they finish their 5th year or during the 10th semester. Students have to go on internships for one semester mandatorily in their fourth year which is the 7th semester for which they get stipend of around 10-15k for a duration of 6 months. The average package offered by the placements is somewhere around 3-4 lakhs per annum but then again is depends on the work of the student and their potential.
