The course curriculum consists of the core subjects related to the course and an additional of 1 or 2 elective subjects plus 2 or 3 laboratories. Most of the subjects are based on applications of the course subject rather than blatantly memorizing the topics . The areas that could be touched upon however is the allotment of course credits for certain subjects . Exams are held in 2 phases - mid semester consisting of 20 marks and end semester consisting of 50 marks .

3.5

Various companies like Infosys , TCS , Wipro , Cognizant have come for offering internships. The internships technically take place during summers and usually are conducted for about 45-60 days where students are taught new skills . The internships maybe paid or unpaid but nevertheless students should apply for them. Internships help during job interviews where the job interviewers look into the no of internships a students has done during their academic course .

Placements usually take place during the 3rd and 4th years . Placements are taken care of by the KIIT Placement Cell . For getting placed first students have to got through placement exams where based on their exam score they can sit for interviews conducted by different companies . The average package offered is anywhere between 3 lakhs per annum to 10 lakhs per annum although there are students who get much higher packages than that. KIIT strives to provide 100% placement although students getting placed also depends on their individual skills . After getting called for placements students can opt for either job interviews or going for higher studies .

The fees is relatively same for all B.Tech courses and vary for others . Scholarships upto 4 lakhs are provided to students who have been ranked top 1000 in the entrance examinations . Internships start around the end of 2nd year and companies come for placement from the 3rd year and students are allowed to sit in the placement exams based on their CGPA .

3.5

KIIT is a place for different technical societies such as KRS (KIIT Robotic Society) , KES and other societies such as debate society, animal society . There is the central library consisting of books of all the various departments and where all students can go to study and the department library for students of each department . Sports are also favored by KIIT where students are rewarded for their participation.

Hostel Facilities

3

Most of the rooms in KIIT Hostels are well maintained and the air conditioned rooms are suited better for summer months . The food varies from hostel to hostel. Hostels where 3rd and 4th year students reside the food is significantly better whereas in freshers hostel the quality of food is bad . In some hostels food poisoning has affected the health of students and also affected the morale of the students towards the hostel. The menu is more friendly to vegans as non veg food is basically non existent when compared to the amount of vegan items in the food menu. PG or rooms are available for rent near Burger King and near KIIT square and are fairly cheap .

Admission

The admission process took place in online mode . 4 phases of the entrance exam was conducted and courses were alloted to the students based on their percentile. Courses like CsE and ECS required higher cutoffs while others just required students to score in double digits .

The highest package was 32 LPA and the average goes to 5-6LPA. The percentage goes to 90 % for placements. After getting degree you can go for higher studies.

Placement Experience:

Placements at KIIT University for B.Tech CSE are decent and well structured, especially for students who prepare consistently. Students become eligible for campus placements from the 7th semester, although pre placement talks training sessions and internships start from the 5th or 6th semester. The university has a centralized placement cell that coordinates training aptitude tests mock interviews and company drives. Many reputed companies visit the campus every year including TCS Infosys Wipro Accenture Cognizant Capgemini Deloitte EY Mindtree LTI Bosch HP Amazon and a few product based startups. Mass recruiters make a large number of offers while product and service based companies offer selective roles. The average package for CSE students usually ranges between 4 to 5 LPA, while the highest package can go above 20 to 25 LPA in exceptional cases depending on the company and role such as software developer or data engineer. Around 75 to 85 percent of CSE students get placed through campus placements. Students who remain unplaced usually pursue higher studies startups off campus jobs or competitive exam preparation. Placement success largely depends on individual effort coding skills internships and communication ability. After completing my degree I plan to work in the software industry to gain practical experience and improve my technical skills. Alongside my job I also plan to upskill in advanced technologies and later consider higher studies or specialized roles depending on career growth.

Placement Experience:

I would rate the placements at my college as 3 out of 5. Students usually become eligible for campus placements from the sixth or seventh semester, and a few well-known companies do visit the campus every year. The placement cell helps with basic training like resume building and interviews, and many students, especially from IT branches, manage to secure jobs. At the same time, the average salary packages are not very high and top roles are limited, so a lot of students also focus on skill development, off-campus opportunities or higher studies after completing their degree

Placement Experience:

Placements at IIIT Bhubaneswar are generally good and improving, especially for students who stay consistent with coding, projects, and internships. In my college, students usually become eligible for campus placements from around the 7th semester (4th year), while many students start getting internship opportunities and pre-placement offers from the 5th–6th semester itself depending on skills. Every year, companies from the software and IT domain visit the campus for roles like Software Developer / SDE, QA, Analyst, Web Developer, and sometimes Data-related roles, and students also get offers through off-campus applications. Some of the common recruiters include companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Cognizant, Accenture, along with product/startup opportunities depending on the year, and multiple students receive more than one offer as well. The highest package and average package vary every year and depend a lot on branch, performance, and market conditions, but overall the college provides decent placement support and training sessions like aptitude, DSA guidance, and interview preparation. The placement percentage is also fairly good for students who actively participate in the placement process, while the rest generally go for higher studies or off-campus roles. After completing my degree, my plan is to either secure a good software developer role through campus/off-campus and build experience, or if I feel more interested academically, I may prepare for higher studies or competitive exams along with improving my skills.

Campus placement i thik it's in your 4 year of engineering only i.e in your 6 semester. There is a lot of companies visited like jsw ,hindulgo and a lot to go . Jsw provides avg package of INR 12 LPA And it selected only 2 students only. I think girls get placement easily as compared to boys ... companies usually select more female candidates....I think I will go for job rather than doing masters degree.
