Remarks

The college management was not very effective and active.

Entrance Preview

I got admission on merit basis without any entrance. My score was not enough for Science stream so I had to take Commerce.

Course Curriculum Overview

The course curriculum was very comprehensive and elaborate. While all aspects of the course were covered the elective subjects were business economics and english language.

Fee Structure And Facilities

I do not remember the figures anymore but it was feasible.

Campus Life

Male population was more. I did not use hostel facility. Workshops were not organised during my course. There was no intolerance related to gender,ethnicity,race,religion, sexual orientation,politics and economic status.

Alumni/Alumna

I did not interact with seniors and alumni meets were never organised during my graduation.

Exam Structure

Exam structure was not very hectic. There were internal half yearly papers. Lab was not applicable in my course. The whole process was chilled out.

Faculty

Faculty was very good and comprised of reputed professors and lecturers who were authors of renowned books and were mostly in the author panel in the Calcutta University.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose to pursue my B.COM (Hons) degree from JD Birla Institute purely because of the rankings. It is affiliated with a well-known university. This college focuses a lot on academics and is very strict about punctuality. The level of difficulty during exams is moderate. If you study hard, you score well, if you don't, you get the marks you deserve. No biasness on that.

Course Curriculum Overview:

At my HS I choose commerce and I score 75% that's why I join B.com Hons, there is at least 5 to 6 professor available at a time for every subject, and when anyone of student has a doubt they solve it immediately or after the class end, they are well qualified as they have Dr. degree, every year there are 2 examinations, it was not so easy or not so suffer.

Decent professors with good environment

Remarks:

Decent college to study at an affordable fee structure. Any middle class or poor category student can afford to study in the college quite easily I don't regret being a student of the college at all.

Remarks:

There are a no. Of positive remarks as the students get a pool of friends not only from India but also from outside India . The college infrastructure is very good and faculties and seniors are very supportive. The only negative fact is that the attendance is very strict and attendance less than 75% in any subject will lead to suspension from examination in that particular subject.

I choose this college because this college is one of the really good colleges out there in Kolkata. Also, bhawanipur education society, Kolkata is highly reputed and occupies a place under Calcutta university. I always wanted to go to Kolkata to persue my higher studies, as I'm from a commerce background and Kolkata is a hub for commerce students. The reason for choosing bhawanipur education society over other colleges was that alongwith the course-related studies it also provides with the overall development of personality. It provides us with a lot of exposure to sports, and etc. Also, the attendence criteria are quite lenient, which helps the students to pursue other courses alongwith. My experience till now at Bhawanipur education society, Kolkata.

I chose this college above any other college because this is one of the best colleges of Calcutta university. And since, I'm pursuing CA course along with my BCOM Hons, the attendance criteria out here is quite lenient which will help me to focus on my CA course in a better way. The merits of this college are - 1) the attendance criteria out here is quite lenient 2) these teachers here are very helpful and supportive when it comes to doubt solving. 3) this college provides us with various co-curricular activities like sports and etc. 4) the campus placement opportunities are very high at this college. The demerits of this college are - 1) this college doesn't provide us with the societies which in turn fails at providing us the exposure needed. 2) the merit-based section division is quite a turn-off as it creates a gap between the academically good students and the average ones....Read More
