Internships Opportunities
As mentioned earlier, the college's has it's own internship sort of training program called practice school 1 for 2 and half months and practice school 2 for six months. The stipend depends on the organization of work. Many a students get PPOs from companies they work in Practice school 2.
Placement Experience
The placement scenario is very good compared to other universities in the country. Many top companies (few international as well) come to hire the students and the place r season is for two semesters. Average salary figures are quite nice ranging from 8-15 lpa over different branches. More information in the companies appearing for placements in up on the institute website.
College Events
BITS Hyderabad organizes south India's biggest technical festival ATMOS in the month of October, which see humongous participation from all over the nation. BITS Hyderabad has it's own Literary festival, Verba Maximus happening in the month of January. It's perhaps the only literary festival of the nation. Stand up comedy night with great names like Biswa Kalyan rath, Kenny Sebastian, Angad Singh have witnessed this festival and are the highlight of Verba Maximus. Next, the college organizes it's own Sports fesitval, ARENA, one of the biggest in the South India with around 20+ sporting events. Last, but not the least is the cultural festival, Pearl in the month of March which is the reason why one should join the campus. The biggest cultural festival of Hyderabad and the biggest private cultural fesitval of South India, Pearl has many cultural events and professional shows with several stand-up comedians, professional bands and music and film star music nights adding vibrance to the festival. All the festivals and cultural activities are managed by the student community with heads for various departments elected by the student body. Many it be sponsorship or publicity, everything is handled by students which infact is a good means to learn team work, leadership and management skills besides academics.
Fee Structure And Facilities
To be frank, the fee is but too high but relatively less compared to private Indian college's with world class facilities in terms of research, faculty and opportunities?. It would cost around 3-4 lakhs per semester, but I'd your financial status is not well, insititute has its own Merit Cum Need scholarship, offered to students with a low parental income and on CGPA every semester. There are also a lot of scholarships offered by BITS Alumni under the BITSAA association which one can opt for. You also can avail merit scholarship based on your performance in a semester. You can find a detailed information of fee structure on the official website.
Fees and Financial Aid
Insititute offers a merit cum need scholarship, for those which parental income is less that 10lpa per annum. It also offers merit scholarship, which is offered to bright students with top CGPA in the semseter. Student loans are offered by various banks and they put up stalls on the day of admission?itself where loan is sanctioned on the spot. No worries in terms of student loan. There are also other scholarships offered by BITSAA, the Alumni association, which one can avail based on the criteria of performance specified.
Hostel Facilities
Every student has to reside in hostel. The rooms for a first year student are double rooms with single rooms for each student from second year onwards. The hotels are very very neat, well maintained and cleaned thoroughly everyday. Even the washrooms are maintained in a very neat manner. There is no PG in Hyderabad, but you can avail a room on paid basis during summer if room are empty. The hostel fee is nominal given the environment and neatness of the stay. The food is very well maintained and fine. Strick rules exist and a strong student community makes sure that every complaint, if nay, raised is addressed with an immediate action and care is taken not to repeat it in future. There also have been replacements in staff, vendors for mess and also periodic checking of water cooler and bathroom sanitation. All in all, a safe place to stay fit and well.
Faculty
Faculty here are amazing and are profound and student friendly. You can hop into their cabin anytime in the day and they'll assist you in your doubts. Majority if the faculty hold PhDs fro. Top universities all across the world and the pursue research in their fields on interest with research papers being published by each of them every year. The teaching environment is very good and the evaluation criteria is well suited for the learning. Sufficient labs exercises are also included as a part of course.
