NSS hindu college is one of the pioneer hiher educational institutions in central travancore

I chose the bachelor of science degree in botany , I was inclined more towards science and biology during by higher secondary period and was curious in studying about plants and the way of the enviornment. The curriculum in the college is currently as approved by the Mahatma Gandhi University of kerala , to which the college is affiliated to. The college currently has semester system of examinations and academic structuring in which there are two main exams each year with internal marks for all subjects. The curriculum is updated to the last few years but is not updated as the central universities a nd needs inprovement in several areas of the curriculum.

the college is govt aided but privately administrated so the fees is not high but at par with all regional private aided colleges . #currently costs under 40000 rupees for a student with govt merit to finish a 3 year degree course # there are self financing courses that cost more than 1-2 lakh rupees for course completion # currently there are no paid in-campus employments, there are internships without cash benefits though #scolarships are approved and given by the management based on merit in major courses and government sponsored grants for backward classes is also supported

The college has annual day celebrations and celebrations ahead of major cultural events in kerala like onam vishu christmas etc. there are various student organisations with political influence , to which the students can voluntarily join like the ABVP, SFI etc . There are college election to the student council and a college union chairman and his associates are elected to take up the isssues of the students with the management. The annual Mannam trophy cultural competition for schools nand colleges run by NSS institutions are held at the college every years with elaborate celebrations and various competition for students at higher secondary , UG and PG levels. The college has its own youth festival and also takes part inthe MG university youth festival held annually.

The NSS Hindus college changanacherry is a higher educational institution that provides opportunities for graduate and postgraduate aspirants to pursue their academic life at affordable fee structures for decades. The college was founded by the Nair service society , a forward caste development educational society to provide quality education to all the aspiring students from central kerala hailing from lower and middleclass families ,the college has a legacy of decades and during my admission which was so many years ago (approx 30 yrs) , the primary criteria for admission to degree courses was a secound class mark in the state pre degree exams which I managed to get in my first attempt itself. I belonged to a forward caste or general catagory so was not getting any reservation benefits but there is a management quota for the students related or referred by members of the college administration. Now the admission process is 90 percent online throught the MG university website .
