AtoZ of NIT Rourkela

I want to go for research in ceramic so i tookthis course . Course curriculum in 1st year is same for everyone . And i found it a bit hectic . Most faculty memebers just come to the class reads the slide and go away while some are good. They should be more practical while teaching . Talking about exams , midsems are easier than endsem and gap between them are generally 1.5 months . Course is completed the day before exams .

Many of our known seniors has grabbed the internship opportunites and have secured Pre placement oferrs while being in their 3rd year . Being a 1st year student , i dont much idea about this now to share .

Campus placement is quite good. Many copanies visit our college . Average package of our college was 12 lak per annum this year . Higher package comes from tech or software based companies . Highest package was 58 lakh this year but its not sure. My plan is to go for research after btech.

Complete cost for 1 year goes around 223000 , in which 130000 is just tution fee . Recently mess fee hiked from 17500 per sem to 30000 per sem . Generally students avail scholarships from differents schemes available like hdfc , vidyadhan , etc. I didnt take any campus employment as its not available.

Infrastructure is well developed here. We have proper roads , buildings , lecture haals , swimming pools , gardens , couple points , etc. More than 50 Clubs are available which doesn't take newbies or teach them but they are active .library has many books from eac category but not very good , it closes at 10 pm and at weekend , at 6 pm . We have 4 bigger playgrounds where we can play cricket , footballs , etc. We have courts for other games too .

Hostel is also , there is 2 bed , 2 table , 1 light , 1 lan , 2 chairs given in 1 room . Room is clean. 1st years are kept in vs hall with phd boys . We have washing machine and water cooler on each floor . But the mess food is worst. Many times we get insect from it . Hostel is mandatory . We can change mess to pure veg mess .

To get admission here , we need to give jee mains exam . Application form is released by NTA 1 month prior to exam mostly in december . One need to score more than 95 percentile to get here if he is boy and from general category . After that do participate in jee counseling and once you get the seat , you come for physical reporting and take your admission here. Jee mains is mostly taken two times a year .
