Remarks

The system being Distance education is very easy and simple. The management and supporting stuff are quite helpful.

Entrance Preview

As I mentioned in the title, DDE mode is best for the people who are working in different sectors and find it difficult to attend daily university classes in regular mode, so Distance mode comes handy as you don't need to attend daily classes. There will be 8 - 10 classes a year, those are mainly on the weekends. I found it helpful to me.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course is divided into two sessions - 1st year and 2nd or final year. You have to pass the first year exam in order to qualify for the final year. Distance education does not really emphasize on research and project work. The main object of DDE is to allow working students to fulfill their dream of having the masters degree.

Internships Opportunities

No, as far as I know, the University does not provide any internship or nowhere promised to do so.

Placement Experience

0.5

Completing Masters degree is like added feathers to your wings. Having the degree means adding extra weight to your biodata. There are many jobs out there that need a master degree to qualify for the selection. More than that, you will get to know your subject like a pro if you have a masters on it.

College Events

1

The University organizes various events. Such as Rabindra Jayanti, Bosonto Utsav, and many seminars from time to time. Once you take the admission, you have to be aware of what is happening in order to participate. The participation is not mandatory by any means.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is not that expansive at all. You have to pay each year before the beginning of the classes. After playing the fees only your paperwork will be completed. It will cost you less than 5000 Rs a year in total. You will be provided the books from the University as well

Fees and Financial Aid

I do not have any particular knowledge of any loan facilities or scholarship offered by my university.

Campus Life

2

The campus is quite clean and decent. For gender ratio, I would say female students are much higher in number than male students. The ratio will be approximately 4:1 favoring for the female. There are not much extracurricular activity options available inside the DDE campus.

Hostel Facilities

2

There is no hostel facility available for the distance education students. You have to arrange it of your own if you're in need of a hostel. There is no particular food facility as well inside the university campus. But can buy your meal from the stores outside.

Alumni/Alumna

No, I did not notice any such senior students network present in the University. So there is no question of helpfulness.

Exam Structure

In my time, we had to attend for yearly examinations - first-year exam and 2nd-year exam. Each year had 4 papers so you need to give examinations for total of 8 papers. But I heard that the system is going to change very soon making it semester basis examination system. You need to contact the University for that.

Admission

The notification for admission of DDE RBU generally releases after the publishing of Graduation result of the degree colleges. The admission process is completely online . You have to go to the official website of The University and fill up the details and then you have to make online payment for the course. After you complete the online process , you will need to visit the university in person within a particular given period to have some paperwork and formalities done . The university will guide you for this .

Faculty

2.5

I would say the most of the teachers are very good with their lectures. But I found few of them lacking in making the lecture interesting and making the class active. But after all you will have only 8 - 10 days of university class a year, you have to study at home and have to prepare yourself for the examination.

Placement Experience:

Most of the placements that took place at least for the literature departments ended up with people joining educational institutes and NGOs. Very few joined corporate enterprises like Accenture. But it does provide almost a 5 LPA, if well placed. It is academically rigorous, therefore academics are weighed more than industry.

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible for applying for internships after the 3rd semester, and students can apply for placements only after 4th semester. Companies like Ericsson, Ernst and Young, JPMG makes visits our department for mostly analyst roles for economic and fundamental trading decisions. The highest offer made was 45LPA while the average is 7.5LPA. The median pakage is 8LPA. Almost 90% students secure placements after completing their degree since the Training and placement cell is pretty proactive in securing good company visits. I plan for investing and analyst roles in banking companies. I would sit for placements hoping for the same.
