What Students Say
Likes
- I am highly impressed by the curriculum that is being followed by the college as it allows an student to form skills essential for a person to make a career out of this degree
- Every class being equipped with an projector allows an student to develop a better understanding of a topic by watching educational videos on the said subject and it also promotes sustainability.
- The life at the campus is extremely amazing as it offers a plethora of activities for students to participate in which helps them learn various soft skills and advance in hobbies that they enjoy.
Dislikes
- The food that is being served at the college hostel is awful and extremely disgusting. It is something that the college authorities should immediately take strict actions against.
- The strength of the classes should be reduced for inculcating a better student-teacher interaction. The current class strength doesn't allow to do the same.
- The college should reduce the length of every lecture and rather increase the number of lectures as it wouldn't fatigue the brain of the students and allow them to learn for effectively
Course Curriculum Overview
The college curriculum is pretty upto the mark and has played an extremely essential role in influencing my decision as it include subjects that are not often taught in other law schools regardless of how significant they are in forming the foundation of your understanding of the course. The moot-court is one of the most excellent societies for students who are willing to improve their litigation skills and articulation both of which are an essential aspect of becoming a successful lawyer and Lloyd has one of the best moot-court societies in this country thus it prepare students for the practical real world applications of various laws that are being taught. The teaching methods can still be improved by reducing the strength of classes which would cater to a better student-teacher interaction and also reducing the time of classes which would make it less stressful for students. Exams are conducted by the end of every semester which can be passed with ease.
Internships Opportunities
Various government and private internship opportunities are offered to the students from 2nd semester onwards to sharpen the required skills in an student to become a professional and highly skilled litigator. The internships under multiple government authorities and high court judges are also offered to the eligibile students where they get to learn the real life applications of everything that is being taught to them at the college.
Placement Experience
Students are eligible for campus placement as soon as they reach the final year of the college. A wide range of litigation firms often visit the college and over 1000 offers are made every year for the students studying in the college. The highest package offered to the students is around 50 Lakh/annum and the average package is of around 6 Lakh/annum. More than 70% of the students studying in the college are getting placements every year. I plan to appear for judiciary once o complete my degree
Fees and Financial Aid
I cannot recall of being informed about any such policies that discusses the increment of the tution fee as it remains stagnant throughout the entire course. The complete annual cost of my education is an estimate of Rs. 1,50,000 and we do not have to pay any other service charges besides a fee that is charged while filling up the examination form. Lloyd Law College offers a whole bunch of scholarship facilities that varies from Athletic achivements to Academic achievements and many other criterias. I personally haven't undertaken any campus employment thus i am not qualified to write on the subject
Campus Life
The only annual function that is often held in between the months of febuary to march is called Catalyst where various entertainers from different niches are invited to perform in the college. The College Library offers a plethora of books ranging from well renowned literature to books on legal studies which can facilitate a student in expanding their knowledge on various subjects. All classrooms are equipped with a projector which is often used by the lecturers to make learning easier and better. The college also offers various extracurricular activities some of which are the debate society, fashion society, drama society etc. The college has an state of art foodball field and basketball court along with a mini volleyball court to encourage physical fitness amongst students. Almost all social societs and clubs are student run which allows them to learn about leadership and team-work.
Hostel Facilities
Every room is equipped with a central AC, a washroom and a massive study table enough to cater the needs of a couple of students. Hostel also offers wifi, laundry service and daily room cleaning. The biggest downside of the hostel is the horrifying food that is served in the mess which often land students to the hospital. The food is very unhygienic and bugs have been spotted crawling out of the meals by many students yet the authority takes no action. The registration form is provided as soon as you are enrolled in the college as an student. It has been made compulsory by the college authorities to live in the hostel for atleast the first 2 years of their admission. I personally believe that the fee is a little too much if you put the quality of food under consideration as it is the most important thing that a person can ask for their mere survival.
Admission
The admission process was not much of a hassle. I was asked to fill up a form online which was provided by an executive from their admission cell via link on my WhatsApp number for which i was charged a fee of Rs. 1500 which was further followed by an interview conducted on a video call where i was advised to dress formally and no other entrance exams were conducted. There were no strict eligibility criteria besides the completion of higher secondary education. The semester exams are conducted once by the end of every semester which can be passed by anyone with ease. I personally do not see any areas of improvement in the admission process as it was pretty seamless and hassle-free.
Other Applied Colleges
Bennett University | Bachelor of Arts + Bachelor of Law [BALLB] {Hons.}
I didn't opt for this college because Lloyd offered better intership opportunities and it has been ranked better than Bennet University by many credible sources online.
