Course Curriculum Overview

The course curriculum is up to date. The main aim of the course is to prepare future pharmacists. The course teaches about the production and preparation of medicine and selling of medicines. It gives us knowledge about the composition and use also. Faculties are good and supportive. We have semester based exams and we have 2 semester per year.

Class Size: 110Course Fees: INR 89500 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

The tution fee depends upon various colleges. The west Bengal govt provide Swami Vivekananda scholarship which provides an yearly amount of 60,000. Their are various other scholarship programs. And the government aslo provides a free tution fee for students who come under a certain category.

Campus Life

The campus provides various curriculum including sports, picnics, holi and college fest. There is a college conference happening from 21-22 in campus. There is a wide range of books and journals in the library also.

Hostel Facilities

The college hostel comes under a paying guest facility. But the owner is very rude and doesn't provide good food also. The food may be good but is contaminated most of the times. The pg is mainly opposite to narayana multi-speciality hospital, barasat.

Hostel Fee: INR 63600 per year

Admission

Students are required to sit in wbjee or jee mains and then go through campusing. They had to score a certain marks in the exam to qualify for the college. The rank should be in between 10,000 for qualifying in the college.

Gitanjali college also gives adequate placements opportunities. Opportunities comes from many sectors. Appolo, Med plus etc. are common and easy opportunities. Beside them Mainly Production companies like Macloids, Sun Pharma etc also conducts interview for their production units every year. Interviews are arranged for 4th year students only. My plan is to continue my higher studies.

This is the oldest Pharmacy college in India

Remarks:

The college is a good college it is situated beside the district hospital and there is morgue beside it. So students will se many dead bodies been taken. This may be problem for weak heart students. But I thing for a pharmacists he/she should be able to see dead bodies.

Remarks:

Institute of Pharmacy, Jalpaiguri is the 1st Pharmacy college in Asia. This is the only one government college in West Bengal. Labs infrastructure is very poor. 100% Placement are done. Our college is very good Pharmacy college in India.

I have not applied to anywhere else, I gave this college as my 1st preference on wbjee counselling and got the chance here only. I applied here over others due to good teaching method and by hearing the appreciation about faculties. no this is the very first and last college I have applied for. So there is no question of going anything wrong. The one and only admission process of our college is through WBJEE exam. And the cut off depends every year.
