Likes

The college campus is lush with a variety of flora.
The infrastructure is good, superior to colleges of similar standing.
Everything required for academics, including a bookshop, is available on campus.

Dislikes

The campus is not large and lacks room for varied sports.
A lack of parking, which causes traffic jams.
External (end sem) exams are taken off campus due to the affiliation with GGSIPU

The curriculum for BBA LLB, a 5 year long degree, is quite comprehensive in this college and covers all important aspects of administration as well as law. Exams are difficult but not overly so. Consisting of a midterm and end term exam.

Internships Opportunities

Companies like Tata Consultancy Services have in the past offerred internship and employment opportunities, with internships averaging at 15,000 per month. Apart from major companies, various companies local to Delhi approach students for internships through the placement cells of the college.

Placement Experience

Campus placements are offerred, alongwith internship opportunities. The placements are on par with similar colleges, but not up to par with top schools. Packages start around 3L CTC, with good respectable companies.

Fees and Financial Aid

Tuition fee is moderate, not cheap but not expensive as well. The entire degree costs a little under ?6,00,000, which is good considering the 5 year duration. Scholarships are available for the financially backward.

Campus Life

There is no centralised festival, but different courses hold their own fests, which include spandan (Journalism school) and initio (Business school). Libraries and laboratories are well equipped all equipment required for all degrees offerred.

Admission

Admission was based on CLAT rank, seamless experience through GGSIPU portal. 85% Delhi domicile reservation makes it a bit difficult for an outside delhi student like myself. Application fees was meagre (apart from CLAT fees).

Delhi University bringing a diverse opportunity.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Being very passionate about law it brought me closer towards the subjects i thought I'd never like. It's vast curriculum has made me like a lot of subjects and has also given me a real life applications and further academic achievement however I feel like the curriculum should focus on law subjects from the very beginning and teaching could be improved by further interactive session between students and faculty.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is very much practical knowledge based and helps the students to grow there legal reasoning which helps them to prosper in the profession. Also it helps them to read and correlate the real time judgements being passed, this curriculum prepares the students to understand the reasoning behind the judgements. Though the curriculum is practical knowledge based it still requires many improvements as these case are old and some of them are even overruled, also the we have to write very long answers which needs to be changed as new methods like ooen text book exams can be adopted to improving.

Placement Experience:

After 2 years of integrated courses, you can become eligible for a job. In law, there is no company, but if you have good communication skills, you will be placed in one of the high courts or supreme courts under a senior lawyer. I don't know much about packages. My plan was to go to Oxford University for further studies.

Get set start with brief info about VIPS.

I applied for Delhi Universities and IP Universities. The first criteria to get into DU is based on merit but also you have the second option ie. by giving the the-Jat exam. Though the cut-off yet goes high for general category students. So I ended up getting into the topmost colleges of IP universities in my course. IP has an entrance exam for every student and the maximum % of admission depends on the Rank you get in the CET. For my course, it is mandatory to have Maths and English in your 12th. The l the rank results higher the chance you to get admitted. The process has 3 rounds after the results. Post getting the results you set your college preferences and according to your rank, you are allotted one. If you are satisfied with the college you can get yourself enrolled but if not you can wait for the second round which goes the same way. But even if you are yet not satisfied you can wait for the spot round ie. if someone leaves that spot. The entire admission process in IP is systematic....Read More
