There are tress and flowers everywhere, i like the greenery and cleanliness of the campus.

Dislikes

Professors giving less internal marks judging only on the basis of class tests is very bad, as it is a college and not a school.
Girls in time of hostels should be done just like the boys hostel time, as girls and boys are equal

Course Curriculum Overview

NITs are renowned for their rigorous curriculum, designed to provide students with a strong foundation in their chosen field of study. The curriculum of first year typically covers what we had studied in our 11th and 12th grades, covering both theoretical concepts practical applications and word problems. Students have access to laboratories, workshops, research faculties to supplement their classroom learning.

Fees and Financial Aid

tuition fee irrespective of gender for general students is above one lakh per semester, for obc students it is sixty thousand per semester and for sc st students it is forty thousand per semester. i am a general student, i give 2 lakhs per year, so the total cost i will be bearing in btech course will be more than 8 lakhs, but there are many of students whose in just 3 lakhs the entire 4 years will be gone. The neighbouring students of bhutan, nepal and bangladesh get scholarships, they dont pay tuition fees at all just the hostel charges and mess fees of very less amount like ten thousan or fifteen thousand.

Campus Life

we have three main fests here- innovision, the tech fest which takes place in november, then we have cosmopolitan which is the ethnic fest held in starting of january, then we have vriddhi, the sports fest held in end of january, at last we have nitrutsav, the cultural fest which is held in the middle of february. the facilities of swimmimg and cricket is the best in our campus. for other different sports like basketball, tennis, its considerably fine. the campus is very huge, full of trees. i personally like the greenery of the campus a lot.

Hostel Facilities

one room consists of a bed and a table for each individual. the size of rooms in girls hostels is less than half of the room size provided to boys in boys hostel. talking about the meal, the meal quality is good, the non veg dishes are good but fot veg, there is always paneer and mushroom, the dishes for veg are very limited comparative to the non veg category. the washrooms are cleaned everyday. there is no dirtyness in the hostels.

Hostel Fee: INR 30000 per year

Admission

Admission was totally based on percentile. students above 98 percentile got higher branches like computer science, or electrical engineering. reservation category also got a lot of benefits, like the general students having the same percentile as the reservation students(obc, sc, st)did not get into NIT, but the reservation students got. i hope this reservation policy is removed from all the nits and iits, its very impartial for deserving general students, who work very hard and do not get the seats because of the reservation policy of government. And in nit, the exams are honestly tough comparative to the different engineering colleges. all the students go sleepless during exam preparation.

Placement Experience:

the placement is also not that much great. they are very few companies TCS and Infosys are the mass recuriter here . The core companies are close to null . So you have to go to only to the IT companies that to at a very low package . My students work for as low as 2.5 lac per annum . This year almost everybody was between 3lac to 10lac bracket . The highest on campus package are about 25 lac . Not more than that most of time. and the average package is almost about 3-4 lac per annum . The percentage of the students placed is also really bad . Most of the students have to hurdle by himself.

Most of people go for PHDs and research after this course so the number of placements is a little less. Also, this unique Integrated Mtech course is new and the first batch of this 5 year course soon will be passed out. They are getting placement offers of 8-8.5 LPA per annum.

Placement Experience:

From seventh semester students are eligible for campus placements. Companies like TCS, GOOGLE, MICROSOFT, AMAZON, SAMSUNG visited and about 7 to 8 lakh rupees package they are giving. Placement Experience:

From 7th sem the students became eligible for campus selection. Companies like Infosys, EVEREADY, ACC , ultratech and many more offering annual packages starting from 2lakhs to 8lakhs. Highest 8lakhs annual packages and average was like 3.5lakh to 4.5 lakh. Approximately 70 to 80 percentage of students are getting placements every year. After getting the degree i want to do a job in electrical companies.

I choose this course because at first I was interested to automobile engineering but I didn't got it from other college so I preffered this mechanical engineering. It is a very though course as it seems. And there was 1:7 for faculty and student ratio. Faculties were highly qualified and some did PhD and m. Tech and other are fresher. The teaching skill differ person to person. The thermodynamics faculty was very excellent. In every year there was 2 semester and it is a little difficult. Admission process was smooth. Eligibility criteria:- To clear the entrance exam. Entrance exam: JEE Mains (must) JEE Advanced (if qualified mains) JEE Mains is conducted by NTA twice a year, one is January and other in April. Application date and form will be available in the official NTA website (jeemain.nta.nic.in). There you will register, then fill out the application form and lastly you have upload the required documents. You have to pay the registration fees which will differ according to the category of the students.
