Remarks

The environment of the college is good. If one is interested in extracurriculars they can get a good exposure.

Entrance Preview

The combination provided by the arts stream, ie, hjtt (history, journalism, travel, and tourism). Also, the college ranks top 12 in art colleges, all over India. It is well known for its extracurricular events. Gives a great opening and market for people in the fashion industry. The college is known as the fashion hub of the city.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

I personally love and am very interested in the topics my course focusses on. For travel and tourism, we covered each of the continents and their top 15 destinations. For journalism, we focus on theory as well as practicals. We were asked to make a magazine, which gave us a lot of knowledge as well as something for the resume.

Internships Opportunities

The college provides recommendation letters with the signature of the HOD. However, we are supposed to go out there and get the internship.

Placement Experience

3.5

The college has a campus recruitment. It also makes us go through campus recruitment training, which is very helpful and we learn things that are very important to know. The college provides good job opportunities. Even if one only has a bachelors degree.

College Events

5

One thing that MCC is famous for is the events. Cul-ah is the popular inter college event. It's a three-day thing, and it is way too amazing. Anybody in Bangalore, even from other colleges should witness it. Popular celebrities and DJs visit the college. Too cool.

Fee Structure And Facilities

It is very different for different courses. In BA-HJTT, I paid about 60000 for a year, which is about 30000 per semester. So i could say it is pretty affordable. Probably because it is a Christian institution. Some people can also pay it in two advances.

Fees and Financial Aid

No, I have not availed a scholarship and have no idea related to its availability. You can pay your fees in installments maybe though.

Campus Life

3.5

It's a girls college. So, technically no gender bias. Extracurriculars are exceptionally good at my college. Practicals/Lab classes are also rich in information. There are regular talks held by the industry experts, interesting debates and motivational speakers.

Hostel Facilities

2.5

There is one hostel, with very limited seats. A new hostel is under renovation, so let's see how it comes out. The mess food is the only thing I absolutely dislike about the college. There are several canteens at several places across the campus. Most of them are overpriced and unhygienic.

Alumni/Alumna

Nope, not very much. There is no way to reach the alumni so without having personal contact info, it's not beneficial.

Exam Structure

We have our CIA(continuous internal assessment) of 30 marks. We generally have an assignment or two, worth ten marks each and have 5 marks for attendance. We have our end semesters holding 70 marks. Then it is all brought down to 100 marks in total.

Admission

Direct admission based on the merit list. On a first come and first serve basis. Every course has a certain percentage, and once you have that percentage, youre in. One has to be physically present in college with the marksheet, the very next day of declaration of results.

Faculty

5

Knowledgeable. They are experts in the industry, having first-hand knowledge. They know how to teach. They know how to grab our attention, even when the classes get long. They focus on us understanding the curriculum rather than us just mugging it up.

Performing Arts have more of practical things as from acting to direction we are taught everything. History and Theory as some theory part and the kind of career path that our course provides, I think for students interested in this, should join our course at Christ University.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose this course because of the dual degree that it has to offer, christ is one of the very few institutions that offer dual degree and allow you to explore both the subjects or gain combined knowledge of both the subjects. The curriculum is very up to date with subjects that relate to real world problems. What i like the most about my curriculum is the Learner centric approach where they divide the class into halves so that the teacher student ratio can be maintained in order to achieve full efficiency. One area of improvement can be inculcating more soft skills traininng into it.

Placement Experience:

The students are eligible to sit for placement in their final years. The companies which comes for the placement are deloitte, goldmanSachs, amazon and many more reputed companies. And they do make many offers. The highest package reports around 30 LPA and the average goes on around 3 to 4.5 LPA. Around 70-90 percent get placements. My plans is to pursue higher studies.

Placement Experience:

Placements are good. Students arw given chances to take exams and get job opportunities from there. Field trips and internships, orientations, talk shows are organized to prepare students further before stepping out for jobs. They can either take the placements they get or opt for higher studies, which is what i am doing as a degree in psychology alone does not grant a wide scope in the jobs spectrum.

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for campus placements towards the final semester of their course. Currently, I have only been using the help of my faculty for internship opportunities, since I am not looking for placements. But they have connections with big names in the communication sector, and they often have personalities coming in to give talks and interact with the students. A great number of students opt for placements and approximately 90% of them do end up getting posted at really good companies. Others choose to continue with higher education. My plan after receiving my degree would be to take up a diploma in literature in the UK, while simultaneously finding myself a position at a good publishing house there.

Placement Experience:

From my seniors, I hear that 20/30 % of students from our college get placed. But now being in my final sem I know the reality. For covid and lockdown, the placement sector has been badly hit. Only a handful of companies came this year (5/6 companies). 4/5 people from our batch are placed but no placement for the big chunk of people. From 5th sem students become eligible for placements but in 5th sem, no company came to our college for placement this year. Only in the 6th sem, the placement cell started. Companies that visited till now ( some of them came to take interns and didn't offer full-time jobs) 1) Clevertize, 2) Social Panga, 3) Robert Bosch GmbH, 4) Saatchi & Saatchi, 5) Publicis, 6)PR Pundit, 7) McKinsey, 8) Edsol Edtech, 9) Momo Media, 10) MSL, 11) Genesis BC, Offers: 1.5-3 LPA (average). I plan to send CVs personally to companies through LINKEDIN and other job search platforms because the college hasn't provided us with good placement offers as claimed.
