- Very less holidays. Government holidays are also sometimes not given
- Frequency of extra classes makes it difficult to plan the other activities of the day
- Very strict in terms of marks which creates too much stress
Course Curriculum Overview
The course Outline is frequently updated which is good as it adheres to the modern day requirements. The teaching is done through a smart board and ppt based methods Continuous assessments take place which count for your total score. The academic calendar is planned well in advance with minimal holidays and postponing of exams never takes place.
Internships Opportunities
Internships happen after the first year with a NGO. It is mostly an online internship if you opt for the college to give you one or else you can approach any ngo to intern for them. It is unpaid. After the second year ends , a corporate internship takes place which is unpaid too but adds experience.
Placement Experience
Placements are a ongoing process here. We have to opt in or opt out of it. Generally most people who apply for it do get placed but in the end the quality of the placement depends on our CGPA. Nmims is known brand name for its placements
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees for my branch i.e Tarnaka branch for BBA course is 2 lakh 75 thousand. This is excluding any hostel accomodation and food. The fees are collected per annum. The payment is to be done through an demand draft. Usually strict with the timings of the payment
Campus Life
The campus is essentially a building with a basement and canteen in one of its floors. The building looks good but has few furniture flaws with it. Club activities always take place but it is always after class timings. A sports day is held by one of the clubs every semester There is a well run library with various academic related books and also a Bloomberg terminal. A computer lab is also provided but is rarely available for the students. Classrooms are equipped with ACs and a smart board with a small whiteboard fitted on each side beside the smart board
Admission
When I found out about NMIMS, the criteria was any student having commerce background could write the NPAT exam or apply directly. Now each student must attempt the NPAT exam and have a maths background to qualify for a nmims seat. After the NEP 2020 comes into force, the bba batch will no longer be taken up in my branch that is nmims tarnaka Hyderabad branch rather it will be taken up at the jadcherla campus. Application form is given in the website and you get centres near your area to give the exam. It is a online exam.
