Remarks

Though this college is very good it still lacks a lot of modern pieces of equipment and new departments which as being a tertiary helath center and as a central body must have. The college management is very good and supportive to its students.

Entrance Preview

Entrance exam required : NEET-UG or AIPMT (As the names are being used interchangeably). I choose MBBS because of my love for BIOLOGY. And Medicine shows you the real-life application of biology, dealing with people treating them, gives a heavenly satisfaction and feeling of content which money can't buy. Moreover, Medicine provides a lot of scope for Research and Technological Development. Apart from that, you can take part in BHU internal counseling by applying for it separately. I scored 550 marks in AIPMT 2014 and I got admission in BHU in OBC category. I did opt for this college because it is one of the best medical colleges in the countries. It has Internal PG reservation of 50% which gives a pretty good chance to crack PG in the first attempt. This college takes the least number of students[ 84 ] as compared to any other colleges in India so it provides the best teacher to student ratio. It is a renowned college with experienced faculty.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

MBBS course in this college is same that is followed all over India as per MCI guidelines. The research work in this institute is quite good. The UG is also encouraged to come up with ideas and discuss it with professors and they will support and help in all possible means. But the initiative has to be from students side. The course goes like this 1st year: Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry. (one year period with two semesters) At the end year, you have to appear for 1st Professional Exam 2nd year: Pathology, Microbiology, Pharmacology, Forensic Medicine, and Toxicology. ( One year and six months with 3 semesters) At the end of the 5th semester, you have to appear for 2nd Professional Exam 3rd year: Preventive and Social Medicine, Ophthalmology, ENT ( one year and 2 semesters) At the end of the 7th semester you have to appear for 3rd Professional PART 1 Exam 4th year: Medicine, Surgery, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Pediatrics (one year with 2 semesters) At the end of the 9th semester you have to appear for Final Professional Exam or 3rd Professional PART 2 Exam

Internships Opportunities

Yes, the institute provides compulsory internship for one year with stipend pay of 17900 per month. The internship experience is good and the teachers and seniors are helpful and supportive to teach the skills and help with PG preparations during the internship.

Placement Experience

5

Medical colleges do not have campus placements but the seniors and alumni are well settled and have good earnings. The stipends that you get is around 60000 without 7th pay commission. After passing out the MBBS usually all get the PG in this institute or some other institute. Then after that, the pay is in accordance with the joining firm or organization.

College Events

3.5

This institute celebrates the national holidays like Independence Day and Republic Day. Apart from that Basant Panchami is a day of great importance to the University which is celebrated with a great pump and show. And not to forget the Health Mela. The Institute celebrates its Foundation day every year. The students celebrate the Annual All India Medifest ELIXIR.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fees structure is very feasible. The admission process requires less than 15,000. (14848) including 1st year fees Subsequent years have the annual fee of less than 9000 (8648) which is to be paid thrice for next three years For the last semester less the 7000 is to be paid.

Fees and Financial Aid

No, this institute doesn't offer any separate scholarship or loan. However, the UP state govt gives a scholarship to its native students but not for the non-UP students. The banks can give you loans to study here.

Campus Life

4.5

The campus is THE ASIA'S LARGEST RESIDENTIAL CAMPUS located near the bank of holy Ganges river. It is only a walking distance from the hostel to nearby Assi Ghat where one can enjoy the mystic mornings of Benaras and Subah-E-Benaras and the windy evenings. The beauty of the campus compels you to take walks The institute organizes Annual Sports meet and Annual All India Medifest in the name of ELIXIR. Regular Seminar and Workshops are being held in the institute and are open for all UG and PG students. This institute has various clubs for co-curricular activities. Every year we have students from abroad like Bhutan Malaysia Nepal Maldives etc and the rest Indian students are from all parts of the country from J&K to Kerala and from Nagaland to Gujarat. Nobody feels any discrimination in any grounds. This place is very peaceful.

Hostel Facilities

4

The hostels are quite good and spacious enough. In 1st year hostel alloted are with double occupancy with all sorts of requirements. In 2nd year hostels alloted are with double or triple occupancy depends on hostel alloted In 3rd year again double occupancy hostels In 4th year or final year and internships hostels alloted is single occupancy. The rental of the hostels is 160 per annum which is to be paid along with the college fees. PGs won't be required as there are enough hostels available.

Alumni/Alumna

This institute has a great Alumni network. Starting from WHO to Yale University to Tata Memorial Hospital you can find an IMS BHU alumni associated. The seniors are quite good and helpful and they will guide you like your elder brother or sister and they will have drinks and smoke like your friends. This a complete Ragging free campus. Here we have a culture that All seniors have to give treats to their juniors.

1st year: Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry. (one year period with two semesters). At the end year, you have to appear for 1st Professional Exam 2nd year: Pathology, Microbiology, Pharmacology, Forensic Medicine, and Toxicology. Admission

I appeared for AIPMT 2014. Back then i had applied for BHU counseling which we had to apply in around January from BHU website which directed us to another Formzero portal and we had to fill the forms there. But now this can be applied through MCC site (mcc.nic.in) for Central Univerities. This is to be filled after the results are declared and you have to fill the forms during your choice filling gor All India Counseling and you have to pay for these extra. After the results of AIPMT declared then i got a call letter for counseling. And the counseling was offline and took place in BHU. Even now offline counseling takes place. During counseling process make sure you have all the documents required. The administration department of the institute is very friendly and co-operative. This institution doesn't have any bond for rural service. But they sign one bond that if you leave the course in the mid way then you have to pay ?3,00,000 as compensation.

Faculty

5

The faculties are highly qualified and experienced in their respective fields. Some faculties are even world leaders in some topics like Dr. Shyam Sundar, Medicine in Kala-azar. This institute has also faculty like Padma Shri Dr. T. K. Lahiri. The teachers are very enthusiastic and full of energy to train the young minds. They use the audiovisuals and also the chalk and blackboard to demonstrate every concept.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The profession I'm in is medical. The toughest of all. As from the starting I wished to be a doctor. The one who is second to a God. The one who is respected the most. The one who does the most prestigious job. As per the curriculum we have to study all 19 subjects in just 4.5 years plus we have to attend the clinical posting in hospital , which exposes us to real world. The posting time is the time given to students from second year till year last. Improvement can be done in passing the exam part which is 50% in each subject. It can be 40 % marks. Currently I've given my MBBS second year which was hectic because of the vast syllabus. We have total of 5.5 year course for an undergraduate degree. Out of which 4.5 years is about studies rest one year is internship in hospital. We have to study all 19 subjects in just 4.5 years. The mbbs course is very lengthy. Each and every subject is very vast. So we have to study maximum time. So all the very best those who aspire to be a great doctor
