Entrance Preview

I wrote Joint Entrance Examination-Mains 2015(previously known as AIEEE). I scored around 170 marks out of 360 marks. I opted for National Institute of Technology, Warangal in Computer Science and Engineering Stream. I got AIR 7000(Gen) and my Category Rank was AIR 150(SC). The CSE stream was best in all other streams and NITW also has top rank in all among NITs. So that was the best option what I can choose.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

As I belong to CSE stream, the course our college offers is well maintained. In the first year, of course, they teach same things to all streams. After that in the second year, you'll get into your respective departments. All the professors are well skilled, knowledgeable and friendly. You can do a project with them, ask them for advice about your researches also.

Internships Opportunities

Yes, Our college provides internships also. But I guess, all those are on professors level. And you've to contact Prof. directly if you want to work with them.

Placement Experience

5

The placements of our college are done by Training and placement section. The job opportunities for NITW is better than a top private college. Every year many multinational companies like Microsoft, Uber, deshaw, Goldman Sachs,VISA,ITC etc visit NITW. The highest package was offered 39.5lac per annum in 2018 by UBER. Overall average packed is about 12 lac per annum (CSE).

College Events

4

NITW organizes Technozion(Second largest TechFest of South India) and Spring Spree(Cultural fest) every year. Technozion 18 will have its 14th edition. There are different clubs like Music, dance, debating, TEDx, writing etc. All of them have their own events.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is both feasible and expensive. All the category students(SC/ST) need not pay any fees in any stream(need to pay for hostel and messes). It is expensive for DASA students who come from abroad to study here. Other than this there is no problem with fees.

Fees and Financial Aid

The scholarship you will get by administration by your high academics. And you'll get other state scholarships also. And if you belong to SC/ST category then MHRD scholarships also there.

Campus Life

4.5

The campus life is very good. Being far from everybody learns many things. The gender ratio is very low. It is about 75:25. NITW has the facilities of all the playgrounds like Football, cricket, badminton, tennis, basketball etc. Even the college has gym facilities also.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

NITW has Asia's largest hostel: Ultra mega hostel(total capacity of 1800 students). There are total 5-6 messes(excluding girl messes). The mess food is quite good. Sometimes it is worst. They provide both Veg and NonVeg messes. take whatever you want.

Alumni/Alumna

All the seniors are very helpful. The alumni network is also very strong. If someone approaches any alumni working in any big company, they will consider you and your skills.

Exam Structure

The exam structure is like: Minor 1 : 10 marks Mid Semester: 30 marks Minor 2: 10 marks End Semester: 50 marks Total marks: 100 marks per subject All the marks concluded in Grades in results. You need to get at least 30 marks to get a pass and 15 marks in end sem as well.

Admission

As I got good rank in JEE Mains. JEE approaches me for counselling to get into NITs. First you've to report your nearby NIT to lock your seat according to your rank. After all the fee payment you've to go to your respective NITs for presence and complete necessary details.

Faculty

5

As I mentioned in the previous answer, All the professors are well skilled, knowledgeable and friendly. All of them has doctorate degree. Some of them have Masters degree also. Really..believe me. They are really helpful. All the things they do only for our future benefits. That's why we have so high placements rate.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I like that the course doesn't feel outdated. Along with the regular subjects we spend a lot of time on coding, projects, and problem solving so it feels connected to what companies actually expect. As a second year student i already feel like i am building skills that i will be able to use during internships and placements and not just preparing for semester exams

Placement Experience:

No batch has graduated yet so there's no record of placement data yet. But more than 200 students got internships. Also the unique point of NIAT is students gets internships from their 1st year itself. NIAT has connection in the industry also its unique teaching style, this allows 1st year students to get internships. Although there is no pass out batch yet, still many people got placed in good companies.

Course Curriculum Overview:

My college course curriculum is outdated .As im studying in computer science and engineering,i wpuld love to study about technological aspects and grow as a software engineering but in the course curriculam they teach my about mechanical workshops,There were no practical experience it jsut understanding the concept with theoritical part . i would love lo code but my college wastes entire time by helping with electricals, meachanical basics. i dont think is it really necessary for me understand in all the feilds they think that student should perform in all the fields as im in computer science and engineering student ,They should teach me more about coding and computer ,how it industries works and how these technology enhacning ,the arenot even explore about all these sectos they only teaching me about fundametals of all the subjects which is never useful for my studies . as i am in final year of btech i thought learning and deepdiving into computerscience and engineering subjects is more greater than learning all sector fundamentals,The area they need to improve is removing some of the oudated syllabus from their ciricullum and enhcing with the pratical experience not to teach only theoritical part. they have to teach all the areas with realtime examples. The timings of exams is very good .we do have 2 mid exams and one semester final exams for each sem and the subjects feels meduim level difficulty

Placement Experience:

The placements are comparatively more in this college, as there is more industry exposure. Students are eligible for placements from around 3-2 (3rd yr-II sem) to 4-2 (4th yr- II sem). Companies like Amazon, Cognizant, NCR often visit the campus. The highest package offered last year was 1.2 cr (International offer). Around 90% students who were eligible got placement. My plan is to get a decent package after the degree.

Placement cell is least active.. Few good companies like Infosys, amazon, TCS etc visited but the average package is of 1-2 LPA and only 25-30% of students whose all exams are cleared can sit in the placement cell. The highest package is of 8LPA. My plan is to move abroad for higher studies.. The students after completion of 6th sem can sit in placement cell

Students become eligible for campus placements after their 6th semester. The companies start visiting in 7th and 8th semesters. The companies are not much good and are mostly service based. So the placement statistics are also not much good. The highest placement last year was 10 lpa and the median placement was around 4.1 lpa. The placements were starting from 2.5 lpa. The better option for students is to apply for off-campus placements or start preparing for competitive exams
