Likes

I liked the bond between juniors and seniors.
The environment of coding in this college is phenomenal.
I have selected this college because the placement rate of civil engineering compared to other colleges are better.

Dislikes

Apart from hostel building and lecture hall, infrastructure is very few. Although some new infrastructure is being constructed.
For playing outdoor games there are fields but they are not being properly utilised and maintained.

Course Curriculum Overview

I have chosen this course because there are further more scope in future if you choose this course ( mechanical engineering also ) as after engineering GATE exam is conducted by several IITs which helps you to get job in several PSUs. In 8 semester there are approx 30 subjects and for each subject there are specific faculty asigned who are also well qualified from IITs and NITs.

Class Size: 110Course Fees: INR 105000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

Par semester, the fees that are charged is 105000(including mess and hostel charges). But for students belonging to SC/ST tution fee of 62500 is deducted. Also for students whose family income is less than 1 lakh get full fee remission and get charged amount of 30500 and for students whose family income is less than 5 lakh get 2/3rd remission and get charged amount of 51334.

Campus Life

There are many social activities happening in our campus with many groups. There are social clubs as well as technical clubs also. Social clubs like NSS( National Service Scheme) which conducts activities like blood donation camp, cleanliness drive etc. Apart from these Culfest (cultural fest) and Ojass (technical fest) is organised. Talking about infrastructure, our college have different hostels for different year students. And currently a new hostel is being constructed for MTech and PHD students.

Admission

If you are in class 12 and preparing for getting admission in engineering college, you have to fill form of JEE Mains conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA). I got admission in this college in 2021 with overall rank around 39K and I got Civil Engineering branch.

Overall Review of NIT Jamshedpur

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum exam ready for students of mechanical engineering it focuses on industrial level exposure and for other competitive exams like gate and IES with good faculty who teaches almost all concepts. There are labs for each subject in which we get real world application knowledge. Also course is updated regularly as per the requirement of industry . The course can we improved by making course more practical rather than a writing all things on practical it should include project for students. Frequency of exam is that in every 15 days there is a exam with moderate to difficult level.

Placement Experience:

7th Semester students become eligible for placements. The highest package is offered by Rubrik in 2025 of 1.41 CR(domestic) High paying jobs are mostly for SWE/SDE roles. Percentage of students getting placed in CSE/AIML is 75, ECE 69, EEE 60, Mech 58. My plans after gettting degree is to get into job sector only for a while. No such higher education plans as such.

Placement Experience:

At BIT Mesra third is like full of practice for placements and final year more of placements activities than studies. So, when all these things are in order placements obviously will be more or less certain and here they are certain only with almost 90% students are places through campus with annual placements of 8-10 lakhs per annum.

According to my perspective or point of view students initiate preparing for placement cells in 3rd year ( 5th semester). The highest package of our college is 14 LPA And average package is 3.4 LPA. Approx 72 %students got placed in different different companies like tcs, wipro, accenture etc.

A Genuine Review

Placement Experience:

From 5th Semester onwards student are eligible for internship but from 7th semester they are allowed to sit in campus. Various companies like PayPal, Wipro , cognizant ,TCS ,Genpact ,Amdocs etc. Highest Package this year is 35 lpa and Average Package is around 7.5 lpa. Around 90% of students from circuital branch and around 80% students from non-circuital branch has been placed so far this year. My plan is prepare very smartly for campus placements and bag a very good PPO from are tech based company.

I applied for NIT Raipur NIT Durgapur and NIT prayagraj I selected this college NIT Jamshedpur because it has top class placement and the branch I was getting as mechanical engineering which is a decent branch. I got rejected from NIT prayagraj due to little less rank . The admission process of my colleges you have to qualify JEE mains with around 95 percentile to get any branch as a general student then you have to go for Josaa counselling in which you will be a lot at the seat . Detailed review of nit jamshedpur

I did choose this college because it is quite old and reputed, being a govt college it has lesser fees and offered good placements, I got IIIT Lucknow as well, but didn't opt for it as it was quite new and didn't have proper hostel and residence facilities at that moment.
