Excellent placements and internship oppurtunities
Hygienic toilets and bathrooms and clean rooms
cooperative seniors who are always ready to help and guide the juniors

small campus , not much to explore in college
Some faculty members can be rude to students
Limited shops are there , Medical shops are 1-2 km away from the campus

Course Curriculum Overview

i chose this coarse considering the placements , location and internship oppurtunities . The faculty ratio is good with 20:1 teacher to student ratio. most of the faculty is iit , iisc PHDS. Some professors are very cooperative while some can be rude at times . In 1 semester 2 major exams takes place. difficulty is moderate and can be passed with 1 week of self study.

Internships Opportunities

College provides on campus internships to students of 2nd and 3rd year . Companies like dell , oracle , media net etc provide internships ranging from 30k to 100k a month . PPOs are also offered to students who are excellent as an intern.

Placement Experience

Placements is one major factor one should consider taking this coarse in iiit bbsr. cse average is 13 lpa in 2023 and 12 including other tech branches with over 90% placements . Core branches have around 70% placement with 8-9 lpa average. Highest package in 2023 was 39 lpa by media.net.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees usually remains constant throughout the coarse. the tution fees + hostel fee for 4 years is around 12 lakhs without mess fee. ews category students in odisha quota are given tution fee waiver . Currently in 1st year

Campus Life

Advaita is the annual cultural and tech fest of our college and d3 is the tech of our college happening every year. advaita is conducted during march while d3 tech fest during the end of the year. Academic books are provided by the college which is included in the tution fee.Cricket , football , basketball , tennis , voleyball coarts are present in the campus . Indoor games like tt , carrom , chess are also available . Different clubs like Megaheartz (cultural) , e-cell (entrepreneurship) , Tech society , robitics society etc are managed by the students .

Hostel Facilities

3 and 4 sharing are provided to 1st years .Single room options are available for 2nd year students (8cgpa required). Meal quality in mess is decent considering the rate (700 per weak) . Non veg options are available. Hostel is given during the reporting time . hostel fee is 9k per semester which is very cheap . toilets are clean and hygenic.

Admission

students qualifying in jee mains are elligible for this coarse , admission is done through 50% jossa and csab councelling and 50% odisha home state councelling through jee mains percentile. application form and reporting details can be found in iiit bhubaneswar official website . one date is assigned for the admission of the students of each branch which occurs in a span of 5 days for 5 branches

I like the vibe of the canteen and greenery around my college

I don't like 75% attendance and the strictness of the faculty members

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is now updated since it became a University, so its more relevant to industry now but still we have to do extra courses for coding. Exams happen every few months—2 internals and one end-sem. They are not very easy, you actually need to study to pass without backlogs

A journey that will help you learn a lot.

Likes

The infrastructure of each campus in the college is very pretty and it's a green campus
The classrooms are well equipped with WiFi, Smart-boards for digital education.
Also travelling from one campus to another has been made easier as buses and golf carts are provided to students

Dislikes

The crowd of students here is too much which feels too much chaotic and disturbing .
The hostel management here as they don't give importance to the major issues here.
The hostel mess food. The quality is degrading day by day

Placement Experience:

The placements of my college is good. This year 75% of the students are already placed with an average package of 8LPA . The highest package till now for this year is 22LPA. Many companies have visited for the placements and 100+ offers have been made. Companies like BNY, Infosys, Deloitte, Accenture, Capgemini, Cognizant, Bain& Company, High Radius, TCS, EY, PWC and many more of them have visited the campus.

The college campus greenery and campus cleaning management are doing really very well that is the only good part but that doesn't matter much for your career.
⭐⭐There is nothing good to mention about this college after going through all the procedures from taking admission to degree,I regret and many of my friends also regretting taking admission into this college.⭐⭐

Dislikes

They have a good well maintained cricket ground but students are never allowed there only for commercial purposes and to attract new joinee.
Staff and management are very helpful and polite only till admission done.🥲.
Hostel food quality is extremely unhigenic, no one takes responsibility after many complaints also.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum was very classical , too much theory oriented for placement point of view they will provide last 1 month or 2 months training for aptitude part rest for technical you have to study on your own.

Likes

Beautiful campus with lot's of space and with good computer labs
They conduct exam in very smoothly manner

Dislikes

Need to improve administrative building while submitting fees many students face problem
Lab session of some subjects are too long which is around 3 hrs which need to reduce for atleast 2 hrs

Placement Experience:

Placement opportunities in my college are good, with students generally becoming eligible for campus placements from the pre-final or final year, depending on the course and company criteria. The college has an active placement celll that supports students by Organizing training sessions, resume building and also mock interviews.

Have collabs with IBM, Samsung, Capgemini for RnD and NUS singapore , University of North Texas
Our college has hosted International Conferences like IEEE InGAARS 2025and Indocrypt 2025, where scientists had came from NASA, ISRO, all IITs, Foreign Universities, etc
Exposure is Good. The teachers here put efforts to teach and research. Unlike other colleges where teachers comes and roll out PPTs, here every teacher teaches on Board explaining everything properly

Dislikes

Few teachers speak in Odia accent, so it takes couple weeks to adjust
Campus is kind of small (36acres), but its good area for a IIIT, considering IIIT delhi is just 25 acres
3 occupancy hostels for 1st years (same goes for any other NIT/IIIT), but they have a option of single rooms from 2nd year

Placement Experience:

from 6th sem, students are eligible almost 100 companies visited including IBM, VISA, Infosys, DE Shaw etc. Highest is 63 LPA and avg is 12-13LPA 90% placements I may consider doing MBA if I dont get very big package

Likes

Things I like is to good faculty, garden.
VSSUT provides the best amenities and bathrooms.
Excluding hostel & other facilities are like good.

Dislikes

The water quality is not good at all from mess side.
The drainage system is not maintained well.
The surroundings are not clean and the guarda are strict.

Placement Experience:

Some say that the celllege has better placements, but that the salary is not very lucrative. Infosys, Tata Steel, IBM, Wipro, Cisco Systems, Larsen and Cognizant, Maruti Suzuki, Adani Group. My plans are to go to better iim for mba

The professor who taught in our class they are taught is best In teaching.
They provide you many opportunities to work upon on you.
The infrastructure of college is good and huge.

Dislikes

The campus is very vast, and you have to walk for every minute of work.
The are very serious about your study and what you are doing
The gate get closed if you get came late even it's 5-10 minute late.

Placement Experience:

It's good as many company come but the placement directly depend on your study and hard work of your 4 year and a pre placement also conduct in 3rd year where you can also get placed. For placement the student should secure 8-10 cgpa for sit in interview exam.

IIIT Bhubaneswar means technology!

I gave JEE to get selected for IITs but that couldn't happen and therefore IIITs were my second option. Collage Review of IIIT

This was the best collage that I was getting based on my JEE rank . I was also getting lower NITs like NIT shrinage , goa etc .
