Course Curriculum Overview
I chose the double major course of Psychology and Optional English because I want to pursue a career in these fields. There are many other combinations as well like Journalism, Sociology, Economics and so on. The Humanities Faculty is well versed with the syllabus and are excellent professors. Most of the faculties have PhD and MPhil. The college conducts tests in regular intervals and gives credits according to the marks scored by students. Tests or exams are fairly easy to pass.
Internships Opportunities
I have done internship in an Autistic School named Sense Kalaidoscopes in the first year of college. They are tied up with several other institutions for internships. I worked as a content developer in the school and some of my friends worked as special teachers.
Placement Experience
For the course I opted, i need to do higher studies. Bachelor's of Arts in Psychology and Optional English isn't gonna give me any job. But our college does have placements. Students from BSC, BCA, Bcom get placed in various tech companies. 10-20 students each from different courses get placed with 4LPA.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee structure is more affordable in St Claret College than in any reputed college in the region. For the amount of facilities they are providing the fees is less. They take around 45000 rs for each yr for the course I opted for. There are many scholarships given by the college, based on merit.
Campus Life
Overall, St Claret College is very lively. Students are encouraged to participate in fests and indulge more in club activities. I belong to the Literary club and it's very active. We go to different colleges for Fests and we also host several fests like Aurora, Euphoria , Confluence, Mayurika, Resonance. We have student council elections, frequent flashmob on campus.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel facility in the college is not that great. For the quality of food, room they provide, the prices are too high. The food menu is just rice/ chapatti. Sometimes Egg curry or Sambar. The rooms are small. The registration was easy and the cost of one room can vary from 6000-7500. This college and hostel is Jalahalli Village. There are PGs and Rented apartments nearby.
Admission
St Claret College admission process was very convenient. First we were connected to the admission office staff who gave us all the necessary details and asked us for our percentage in 10th boards and 12th boards exams. Then if our marks was at par with the eligibility criteria of the college, we had an one on one interview session with a representative of the college over a call. It was very smooth and we got the confirmation within 4-5 days. They have a well organised website which has application forms and other details about the college. Eligibility criteria is 75% and more.
