Course Curriculum Overview
I chose this course because of the trade specialization. The faculty to student ratio is approximately 1:40. The faculty is highly qualified with Ph.D. degree and teaches in a combination of case studies and theory part. Term exams are done once every 3 months and the difficulty is moderate to pass the exams.
Internships Opportunities
The internship companies are EY, Deloitte, Marico, Godrej, Pidilite, Haleon, Mars, Citi Bank, JP Morgan, Phillips, RPG, Flipkart and many more. The average stipend would stand at around 1.2 lacs per month. I can't tell much about the internship experience as I'm yet to start my role.
Placement Experience
From the 5th trimester, the students become eligible for campus placements. Some of the companies are Microsoft, Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan, Deloitte, Accenture, Godrej, etc. The highest package is around 80 lacs for a trade company and the average stands at around 29 lacs. All the students gets placed.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee is quite steep but that has been the current trend in almost every Business School. I don't have any scholarship and financial assistance is provided by my family. Since I'm in first year, I haven't got any job from campus yet.
Campus Life
The annual fest, Quo Vadis is held in February and there are other events like the sports fest, Adrenaline also held in February. Books are provided to each individual by the college. The journals are available in the library. Classrooms are air-conditioned with projectors used for teaching.
Hostel Facilities
Rooms are 2/3 seater with coolers and heater provided by the college. The meal quality is quite average and there is a huge room for improvement in the quality and menu. The hostel overall is quite good with no curfews.
Admission
The IIFT admission process involved a written exam that consisted of 4 sections, quants, logical reasoning & data interpretation, English, and general knowledge. The exam cut-off was around the 50 percentile and the people who qualified went for the interview round then a composite score was formed which decided the final shortlist of students.
Interview Experience
The topic of Extempore was "Can India reach 2 trillion dollars in exports to the US by 2030?" The interview questions were mainly about my work experience and global news. My preparation was through coaching and devoting around 7 hours per day to self-study.
