I really like mess food as it include great variety and taste.
I love hostel life as there is no restriction at all.
I also like sports facilities available for students.

Dislikes

I don't like reservation for such esteem college.
I don't like female reservation in the college.

Course Curriculum Overview

All professors are highly qualified with full trained in their course. They had done great research in their respective field. In a semester we have two examination, one is mid-term and other is end-term.

Internships Opportunities

Companies related to various domains that include finance, banking, software, quant, consulting etc. visit college to hire students for the intenship in which they provide very good amount of stipend.

Placement Experience

I think there is no competition of placements of IIT in India. IITs have best placements records. On other institute is near IITs. It has about 95% placement stats which is mind-blowing. All top companies visit IITs.

Fees and Financial Aid

IITs are the cheapest engineering college in India. There are lot of scholarships available. If you maintain decent grades in college, with means of scholarships you can study free of cost. IITs offers best job placements.

Campus Life

IITs have the best college life with big hostel rooms with all the basic facilities. In college we have 3 fests named Anatragni (Cultural Fest), Udghosh (Sports Fest) and Techkriti (Technical Fest). Fests are really amazing.

Hostel Facilities

Hostel are alloted by the college administration with mess attached in each hostel. Our mess really make tasty food with full focus on hygiene and variety. There is no culture of PG at all. Hostels are the place where students enjoy half of their college life's best time.

Hostel Fee: INR 40000 per year

Admission

I gave two exams, firstly JEE Mains and then JEE advance to get admission in IIT. Subjects included in the exams are Maths, Physics and Chemistry. Top 2,50,000 students qualify for JEE Advance and then around 15,000 students got selected for IITs.

IITK From Sparsh's Perspective

Placement Experience:

So the placements of IITK is so good. As it is one of the top colleges of engineering in india, the placement here are quite good. The Average pakages according to last year stats is somewhere around 22 lakhs. And then the we have branch-wise average Pakages too. The students becomes elgible for interhsip in his/her 5th semester and for the placement in his/her 7th semester. The American Express & Jp Morgon visited IITK and has made 11 and 6 offers respectively. The percentage of students getting placed are high , usually higher than 85 percent. I planned on preapring for UPSC after the my degree.

From 7 th semester students become eligible for campus placement. Many companies visited like nvidia, oracle, optiver, graviton, amazon ,flipkart,Meesho, zomato etc Highest package I know is approximately 1.5 cr internationally. Almost 90 percent are placed.

Life At IITK

Placement Experience:

After the end of 6 th semester, students need to submit the resume for the placements. At this time my senior placements are going on and they are much better. Like on first day half of the batch got placed. All the it sector company are there you can apply for. Highest package was around 2 cr and average was 25 lakhs. 70 to 80 percent of the students get placed, rest of the students either go for the masters or PhD or some other goal. I am pretty sure after my degree completion i would get an average package but I just wanted to be a civil servant.

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for campus placements starting from 7th semester of their UG program. IIT Kanpur attracts top tier companies accross multiple sectors including tech, finance, consulting, core and research roles. Major companies visit IIT Kanpur like Microsoft, Amazon, IBM, Intel, McKinsey, BCG, ONGC, ExxonMobil, Schlumberger, Reliance Industries,JP Morgan, Flipkart and many more. The highest package came from international offers with salaries ranging upto 1-.5-2 crore per annum for roles in tech, finance and consuting. The average package across all sectors hovers around 15-20 lakhs per annum. The placement rate at IIT Kanpur is typically very high with aroung 85-95% of students securing jobs through campus placements, depending on the department and year. For highly sought after branches like CSE and EE the placement rate approaches 100%. Placement Experience:

The placement statistics of IITK is great. Every year many 1cr+ packages as well as international packages are offered by top companies to students. The placement percentage is also increasing every year. The students become eligible to apply for companies after 3rd year ie. after 6th semester. The highest package offered was 4cr per annum while the average package was 22lacs per annum. My plan after getting the degree is to get a good paying job and start working.

The placements were good. The highest package was 55lpa and avg package was 19lpa. All top tach companies visit here like Google, GS, MS, Amazon visit here. Around 95% of students were placed. I am joining JioSaavn.

I choose this college becouse of its flexible acdemic structure and its great Alum connections. Also this is the best college i am getting according to my rank and my interest in mathematics. I have Applied for IIT delhi in electronics. IIT Delhi is also a great college but when it comes to academic focus IIT delhi lacks there. Also there faculty administratation is so strict. if a student wants to start something or he/she has a new iniative for the college , he/she will face hard time. So I couldn't make it to IIT Roper CSE branch because my jee adance rank is not that great for the Roper' Computer science. So the Admission process here at IITK is not difficult. You just the originaly document which you have submitted in your josa counselling portal and you need to verify it once here usually a couple opf hours work. The cut-off for IITK varies-from branch to branch. For example the CSE of IITk open from Jee advanced general rank of 115 to 250....Read More

Life @ IITK

I chose IIT Kanpur over othe rcooleges because of its academic reputation, research opportunities and strong alumini network. I was also able to get seats in other IITs but I preferred IIT Kanpur due to its legacy . I didn't face rejections, but did not opt for some colleges even after qualifying due to lower research output, weaker placement stats.
