Being IIITDwdian ! All you need to know before entering IIIT Dharwad!

I was particularly interested in computer sciences and I was getting this college based on my mains marks. Faculty student ratio might be 1 : 50 here. Approximately 150 computer Science seats are available, considering all the reservation categories. All the faculty are well versed in their respective subjects and have PhD from esteemed universities across India. Term exams were about 5 months apart and difficulty was medium. Passing the subjects is actually easy, but getting straight As is a bit difficult

Fees structure over here is quite simple. Per semester, institute fees ks about 152500 inr, hostel fees including mess charges is about 45000 inr per semester. There seems to be no fees hike policy, but we need to pay caution money and security deposit in the first semester. There are many government policies that college helps securing for scholarships. Also, students can avail student loans if required.

We run an annual cultural fest called Habba, in accordance with the cultural committee at IIIT Dharwad. Generally it occurs during the odd semester. Libraries are well maintained with biometric authentication and we get vast amount of online resources too. Classrooms are equipped with wifi and smart tvs. We have a lot of technical and non tech clubs over here, such as literary club, coding club, gdsc, robotics club, etc. We also conduct sports tournaments in the month of August.

We need to stay on campus till our 7th semester. We stay as a group of 4 in each room. Rooms are quite spacious with all the basic amenities provided. Electric appliances are NOT ALLOWED in hostel rooms. Mess menu and quality of food is quite modest. Hostel is easily available and there is no speciffic registration process for hostel rooms.

I had to write JEE mains exam, cut off was 96 percentile for Computer Science Engineering for general category. The admission process and counseling happened via JOSAA, it is also held via CSAB. After the result of JEE Mains, we can register to JOSAA website and complete the admission process.
