Likes

The Campus as a whole is really beautiful.
The hostel is good and the available facilities are adequate
The library and computer centre is really nice.

Dislikes

The mess food is not that great and is a concern.
Some services are expensive near campus than their real price
The lecture hall is quite far from my hostel.

Course Curriculum Overview

It was the only available course I was able to avail in this college so I didn't had much choice but we have good faculty to student ratio and the faculties are good and helpful. The term exam were moderate and were easy to pass if you studied well

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee for B.Tech in my college is moderately high but there are various scholarships available for the less privileged students and the students are also given assistance in purchasing laptops,book and stationery.

Campus Life

Till now it's been good and I'm enjoying my college/campus life. I attended fests and am part of some clubs which I am interested in and it's been great here. The library is big and has all the books and journals need by students

Hostel Facilities

The hostel is really nice and is moderate in size compared to the other hostels in the campus the food in the mess is not that great but the menu on the other hand is quite good we also have canteen and stationery in the hostel

Hostel Fee: INR 8000 per year

Admission

The admission process was effortless the counselling was done by jossa and the physical verification and document checks were done at the college itself. Also the fee payment was done online and application form, hostel allocation and other details were also available online.

A calm and disciplined campus life at JIST

Course Curriculum Overview:

Most of the professors are good here.The college covers the core subjects required for strong foundation in engineering. However the theoretical coverage is good the scope for practical exposure is still required.

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible to participate for Internship placements from 3rd year and FTE offer from 4th year starting. Overall the placements scenarios are pretty good considering it to be a NIT. The overall highest package goes to around 80 lac plus and the average package lies around 18 to 20 lac for CSE Department. The opportunities are great with companies like Amazon, Microsoft, Nvidia coming for on campus opportunities providing agreat experience

NIT Silchar Review: Campus, Career and Career Prospects

Placement Experience:

NIT Silchar has decent placement stat. Approx 75 percent student got placement from campus and they got decent package. In NIT Silchar from 7th semester students are eligible for placement and company comes whole year for recruiting. Approx 100 company visit the college throughout the year. In tech Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Walmart and more companies come. For core L&T, Adani, Tata Steel and more companies come. For service base Infosys, TCS, Wipro will come and give good offer. Highest package will come from tech company and that is 52lpa and average from all companies will lie from 10 to 12 lpa . My plans is that in my 4th year atleast I will get one job. If I don't get job then I will try from off campus or giving paper for government job

Placement Experience:

The placement is quite good in my college. In 7 th semester the placements start and the package goes from 16lpa to 2 cr . About 75 percent student who applied got placed . I want to work in a software firm.

Placement Experience:

Students normally appear for placements in fourth year with two placement seasons namely from december to january and february to march. Companies include quant companies and tech giants like JPMC, Reliance Industries, WellsFargo,Piramal, Standard Chartered,Texas Instrumentation, walmart, Microsoft, Amazon, Deloitte,Oracle, HCL, Barclays, Tata steel, uber, legato, Mastercard, Nutanix, BPCL, BEL,PWC, Socgen, etc. Almost 80% students get placed every year with the average package ?1,60,000. The highest package was 1.68 crore per annum from the branch of Computer Science.

ASSAM UNIVERSITY SILCHAR , THE GOOD THE BAD AND THE UGLY

Placement Experience:

only fourth year students are eligible for campus placements . the detalis of the visiting compaies are not thte sure but at least 10 stuents are placed each year from every single batch. the higest so far was 20 lpa and it was in amazon , the student who cracked that placement applied it off campus . on campus placement was not more than 10 lpa so far . the percentage of students getting placemnets are less than 50% not because of quality of placement but majority stuents opt for higher studies or goverment jobs rather than direct placement . my paln is to also pursue higher education

Well, the first thing is that they dont mandate the JEE certification or anything, any student from any state country can apply to this course, secondly they have the flexibility of letting us choose whatever how many subjects we want in that particular trimester depending on the burden we have in our other degree or job...Read More

Detailed and Unbiased Review

I have applied for DTU & IIITD where I got Software Engineering Branch through the JEE Mains Scores. But since I was sure to join old IIT. I was not sure much about branches so, I just filled all the core and circuital branches of all Old IITs. I wasn't able get other top IITs as my rank in JEE Advanced was not that level. Admission Process: Involves early payments of fees before arrival to the Campus.
