Course Curriculum Overview

3

I choose this course because i have a keen interest in the subject sociology. I loved to gain knowledge about the history of the societies and how these societies work. The faculty and student ratio is also quite good as in the faculty there are 15 teachers including professors and assistant professors and around 30 students in the faculty. The faculty members are very qualified regarding the course the teaching methods also very good as each and every student is able to understand very clearly what the teacher is teaching. The term exams happens after every 3 months of the starting of the semester which makes it really difficult for students to study and complete their course on time due to this it becomes quite difficult to pass the term exams

Internships Opportunities

5

many companies came with internship offer such as Google and many other MNC's. I was enrolled in the internship program of teach for India foundation where I used to teach classes 1st and 2 nd at a government school. My stipend was around 3k per month

Placement Experience

3

Students become eligible for campus placement form the final year of the course Many MNC's have visited AMU like Google. The average package from campus placement is aroun 50k per month and the highest package offered is 70k per month Around 40 percent of students gets placement. My plan after getting a bachelors degree is to apply for MBA

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees regarding this course have always been same which is around 4000 INR but it varies if a student is an NRI then the fees becomes quite expensive. I was able to get an internship in teach for India foundation from the university TPO(teaching and placement office) in this internship I was getting a stipend of aroun 3000 per month

Campus Life

The Annual fest also brings many sport competitions and also the campus have all the fields and courts in which all types of sports can be played AMU have one of the best football and cricket field. AMU also have a horse riding club and an Olympic size swimming pool. There are many clubs in which a student can get enrolled. There is the university film club, University debating and literary club, University drama club, University music club and many more clubs which are run by students under the provisions of some t

Admission

Eligibility for B.A.(hons) Sociology in AMU is a student must have 55% or above in his/her 12 th board exam if one does not meet this criteria he/she is not eligible for admission into any course in Aligarh Muslim University. To apply into this course one should pass an entrance examination for Bachelor of arts. The application form for the entrance exam will be available on the amucontroller website from there one can fill out the application form for any course in Aligarh Muslim University. Everything including the eligibility criteria, course fees and application dates are provided on the amucontroller website. The only improvement I want to see in the admission process is that the university should improve their online server as they sometimes due to large traffic gets down

Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapith - [MGKVP], Bachelor of Arts [BA] (Education)
Reviewed on Feb 17, 2026(Enrolled 2023)

Course Curriculum Overview:

The BA curriculum in my college at Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapith (MGKVP) for the 2025–2026 academic year is structured under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, making it academically comprehensive but traditionally theoretical. It follows a six-semester system that offers a wide range of subjects, from core Humanities (History, Political Science, Hindi) to modern electives and Vocational courses (e.g., Nutrition, Yoga, or Digital Literacy), providing students with a multidisciplinary framework. In terms of relevance, the syllabus is exceptionally well-suited for students aiming for government services and competitive exams (UPSC/UPPSC), as the depth of social science subjects mirrors the state and national civil service patterns. However, its professional comprehensiveness is lower; while the curriculum includes internal assessments, presentations, and project work to build soft skills, the actual delivery remains focused on rote learning and theory rather than industry-ready practical training. Consequently, the course is highly relevant for an academic or administrative career path but requires significant self-supplementation (internships or external skill-building) for those seeking immediate roles in the private sector.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum at Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) is well structured, relevant, and comprehensive. One of the main reasons I chose this course was its balanced syllabus, which includes both theoretical concepts and practical applications. The curriculum is designed in a way that builds a strong foundation in core subjects while also introducing advanced topics gradually. This helps students understand subjects deeply rather than just studying for exams.
