Likes

Campus life- the grounds, the cafeteria, the building, classrooms
Seniors are very helpful, they are ready to teach us new and exciting things, they treat us like brothers.
Annual fests- in Riviera they brought ashneer sir, who is a great entrepreneur , and the tech fests

Dislikes

The fees structure is too high for general category students without scholarship
Changing subject teacher in the middle of semester, tuning again with new teacher takes time
Placement is not good in recession period

Course Curriculum Overview

The curriculum is very good. Main reason i chose cybersecurity because this field is interesting and growing rapidly, many opportunities are blooming. The faculty and student ratio is good in general. For approx 10 student there is one teacher Teachers are very qualified in their respective field...many of them have their PhD from well known institutions The term exams are always on schedule and they maintain a good gap between internal and semester exams. The difficulty is low in terms of passing exams because questions always come from the material the teachers have provided us.

Fees and Financial Aid

Yes there is fees hike recently, now we have to give 60k per semester excluding hostel fees. Opportunity of scholarship is very low as I'm a general category student and my father is in government service. I haven't got any internship that provides stipend till now .

Campus Life

College Campus is lively. Many programs held by clubs run by college students. Riviera and prayukti are the main fest that held in summer (june or july) The college library- aryabhatta library is the main source of books for college students. All kind of tech journal and course related books can be found there. In cybersecurity department there is a smartroom which provides a smart board for advanced teaching and this room have AC for comfort also. Other than that classrooms are well maintained and cleaned. There are many intra and inter sports played in college like football basketball cricket tennis chess etc. There's a gym that provides advance machines and barbells for lifting enthusiast. There are clubs like samarpan and needs that are NGOs run by college students Tech clubs like IEEE iste, cultural club like HIT inside that reserves the culture and heritage of this college

Admission

The admission process was lengthy...i was admitted through wbjee counseling...1st I've to physically verify from other institute i was allotted in my 1st counseling. After that upgradation was made and i was admitted in this college . Reservation plays a great role in this. 1st comes home quota...then comes tfw quota

Placement Experience:

The students can apply for internship via Career Development Centre in the beginning of their pre final Year. they can go for off campus intern whenever they want. Most of the goo companies would come and mostly for software finance consulting etc. The placements start in the second last semester as far as i know. The competition for placement is getting really high these days

Companies like TCS, Wipro, Accenture, IBM,Amazon and many more visits the college and companies like TCS and Wipro take mass recruitment and companies like Amazon offers 2-3 job . Approximately 85 percent of the students gets placed . My plans after getting the degree is to get a Software Developer job

Course Curriculum Overview:

I read in CSE(AIML) AI ML perspective and couse curriculam inluenced me to admit in college. Teachers often make real-world applications gor any pariculatr topic. I think more practical based an implement based curriculam should be added rather than more theorital subs. Most case college is form 9am -5 pm Like (9-5 job) .

Overall a good college to start your career in the tech industry.

Placement Experience:

NIT DURGAPUR - A Detailed Breakdown

Placement Experience:

Students generally start getting their pre-placement offers from their 3rd year after completion of their internships other students gets their placement too in their final year. Starting from Apple to Google and Microsoft too hired some of our senior but the number of the students get placed in those tech giant companies is very less but there are mass recruiters too like TCS infosys PW chaitanya education TATA steel BHARAT petroleum and many other companies the offers are made based upon the eligibility of the students and the packages are decided based on the skillset and experience of the students . Highest package was 70 LPA this year and the average packages are also pretty good based upom the companies and their offers it ranges from 15-30 LPA .Almost 80-83% students gets placed but it depends on the branch of the students and their skillsets.I want to sit for GATE exam after completion of my BTech and want to persue MTech

I choose haldia institute of technology as it offers a good balanced between affordability infrastructure reputation and academic quality espicially for btech conputer science. HIT is the oldest private engineering college in west bengal with nice nirf ranking with huge campus of 50 acres and well maintained Hostels for boys and girls Average 4-5 lakh placements TCS infosys wipro I have aimed for jadhavpur and IEM kolkata but couldn't make it due to wbjee rank just below cut off some private college were out of my budget like amity and kiit The admission process is smoot and take students through wbjee counseling then seat allotment after this documents verification then admission...Read More

HIT, Haldia Better then Government Colleges of West Bnegal

I have got some government colleges but the placements were worse in those and this college has a huge number placements you know.. for addmission in this college 80 percent are from WBJEE 10 percent from JEE mains and 10 percent from management Quota. The addmission process is quite smooth just fill addmission form they will verify then pay the semester fee and your addmission is done ? verification step is most important there during addmission. I applied to this particular college because of the low expense and it being near to my state, it takes 6 hours to get there which is why I chose to stay at hostel. Good facilities are available, you will not have problem navigating the area however be careful of your surroundings.
