Remarks

Overall, I can say that my experience of the college for postgraduate degree is good as of now. Although the course is good, but, I would want more focus to be put on practical learning because after all, it is a practical subject. Other than that, I am content with the facilities provided by the college. I was very interested in the subject and love it personally, so it is a great experience for me.

Entrance Preview

The college provides admission in post graduation on the basis of merit. I also did my under graduation from the same college. There was no interview round for admission. I chose this course because I feel strongly about mental health and want to make people aware of it and help them in living a stress-free life. I believe through this course, I will be able to attain tools to make the world a better place.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course curriculum is good but again there is a lack of exposure. The focus is more on theoretical concepts. There is not much focus on practical learning. Although we have practical paper but even that is mostly pencil-paper based. Yes, some research initiatives have also been taken up by the institute. Electives papers are a part of the college's undergraduate courses. These electives cover various aspects like - personality development, environmental studies etc.

Internships Opportunities

Internship is provided in our course but it is in fourth semester and I am in first semester. The internships are both paid and unpaid and they are a great learning experience. Also, because there is no campus placement in our course, internships help us to look for appropriate opportunities and also help in creating good networks.

Placement Experience

1.5

Since ours is not a professional course so there are no campus placements. But student get placed after post graduation by self effort or on teacher's recommendations. It depends on how they have performed throughout the course. Since jobs are to be found by oneself, it all comes down to right opportunities at the right time. But students of B.Com., B.Voc., and B.B.A. in our college do get an opportunity for campus placement. Many companies visit the campus for their placement.

College Events

1

No fests are organized in the college because of the nature of the course. No events are held in the college except for inter-faculty debate competition. More focus is put on studies and students are not very interested in taking initiatives from themselves for organizing events. Hence, no big events as such.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is very affordable. Our fee for the whole year i.e. two semesters is around Rs. 23,000. The course is a good worth of money and I believe is lower than other colleges providing similar courses. From what I have heard, Delhi University also has somewhat same fee and I think that is just fee for an undergraduate course.

Fees and Financial Aid

The college provides scholarships to meritorious students. Some students receive it but I did not avail any. College does not help in getting some loan, only scholarships are provided. If someone cannot afford the fee, then he/she has to avail the loan facility themselves.

Campus Life

3.5

Extracurricular activities are held thrice a year. We do not get ample opportunities to explore our inner talent. Our college authorities majorly focus is on academics and extracurricular are rare. Except, the pre-decided three events, no other extracurricular activities are organized.

Hostel Facilities

4

Although I am not residing in the hostel, but, some of my friends are. Hostel rooms are on available on sharing basis. I don't know if they have PGs. I don't know the hostel fees but I do know that food is good. It is pretty good for hostel food.

Alumni/Alumna

There is no interaction with the alumni. College provides no platform for student-alumni interaction. We have not received any such opportunities as of now and it doesn't seem feasible in the near future as well. However, students are free to interact with their seniors on personally and I too do that.

Exam Structure

Exams in the course are very frequent. In a way, it is good because this compels a student to stay up to date with the syllabus but it also leaves them exhausted. The culture isn't what one would call chill. It is pretty hectic but completely worth I think.

Faculty

3

We have four faculty members. Out of our faculty- three have doctorates, and one is post graduate. They all have work great experience in teaching and counselling both. Also, they all are very interactive and make sure they explain concepts well.Standard of teaching is somewhere in between high and low because there is less focus on practical learning despite psychology being a practical paper. It would be better if more focus is given to practical learning.

Placement Experience:

The placement here at Sharda was too good. Students start attending the Placement interviews and calls from the last semester. I was personally made into 4 companies and 4 offer letters were offered to me. The average package is 3.8 lakhs per annum and highest was about 11 lakhs. There is 100% placement in every dept. but it depends on students if they want to attend or not. After getting the degree i studied for my PhD entrace and now i am working.

My college provide best education and hostel facility in india.Security is very good. Managment is very good.Transport facility inside the campus in now very good. Placements : The institute actually has very good placement records due to its outstanding alumni and also due to the presence of placement and training cell working day and night to indulge its students with skills and leadership. So, the placements in our college have never been a problem. Infrastructure : With almost hundred years on the calendar, our campus is luxurious from inside and filled with modern day necessities from inside. We have every resource that a student wants in his college life such as largely spaced room, Wi-Fi everywhere around the campus and many more things. So, the campus is unmatched. Faculty : The faculty members are nice, and I found them very helping and motivating. On the other hand, the course curriculum is a bit boring but essential too. A load of academics is very less compared to other IITs and hence students can do anything they want and could carry on their interest. I feel very proud to be a part of IIT BHU. Other : There are three main fests in our college, Kashiyatra, Technex and Spardha. All the fests are held at very high level. Participation from many IITs, NITs and other different colleges from many parts of India make our fests super big and exciting.
