Remarks

Research is more of an independent pursuit, so I do not depend on university for any major part of my work. Only for passing the documents related to work, it takes a lot of time, which leads to delay in fellowships, grants for research. The system should be made more transparent and student centered.

Entrance Preview

I cleared my KSET exam so i was exempted from interview for Ph.D. There was interview for other candidates who had cleared neither NET/ KSET I did my Masters degree here. I joined here only for that particular guide of mine , was not concerned with the university title.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

I am perceiving Ph.D. so only we had a course work of 6 months in the beginning of the Ph.D. unfortunately no lecturers were keen to take classes/ we had to self prepare for the coursework exams.

Internships Opportunities

College do not provide any internship grant. But some professors do get students from different institutes of India as National Science Academy intern fellows. As such University does not have direct internship facilities.

Placement Experience

4

in terms of M.Sc. the placements are good . Companies like Advinus visit every year. Other than that almost majority of students gets placed in Schools and colleges as Teaching staff. Some have entered into good research labs across India and abroad.

College Events

4

Every year there will be arena of events . All are managed well.

Fee Structure And Facilities

It was affordable as I am receiving fellowship. But for others it may be a different situation. Fees was 23800 INR in the first year. then it was INR 11,800 for the next years (2nd and 3rd)

Fees and Financial Aid

I avail 'INSPIRE' fellowship from Govt. of India. University does not give any fellowship to research students.

Hostel Facilities

4

I am not staying in hostel. But hostels are neat, well maintained . I used to stay in hostel when I was a M.Sc. student.

Alumni/Alumna

No. I did not get any such opportunity to meet any seniors in Alunmi meeting; never it was arranged.

Faculty

3.5

Senior staff are excellent. But there is very poor co ordination between the staff. Lot of internal politics do exist. There is rivalry between staff and its very evident from their behaviour; thats the part which we do not like about university. overall its a good place to learn for Masters degree students.

A no. Of conferences organised to expand the research collaboration in the world. Many scientists, nobel laureates come to give lectures. You get a lot of exposure to the research in few years. I enrolled as a Int. PhD. Student in chemical science. You get opportunity to do any experiment in the lab. Its like you are given a lab and play with science. Emense machines of crores are available for students like Titan-TEM, AFM, FESEM, NMR, HPLC, ICP.
