Remarks

In a nutshell My college is quite better than any other colleges in the same district and is probably the best in the list of colleges being affiliated by West Bengal State University Yet as it's human nature to urge more I wish the classrooms get a step more advanced.

Entrance Preview

It's selection occurs upon XII standard board results. Moreover, at counseling, we r asked a few questions as the interview as to judge our capability for handling the subject.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

B.Sc on Microbiology is one of the best streams the college to keep record in the entire state... Faculties r too loyal to students (even slow learner's)And the labs are well furnished and maintained well Extra classes in need is also organised But a theory class rooms can get a little upgraded. Which will be a boon for the students like us (who has passed out from esteemed schools will well organized and furnished classrooms).

Internships Opportunities

As per my knowledg Yes! my college provide internship for both B.Sc and M.Sc graduate's (No details for Arts and Commerce subjects is known to me)

Placement Experience

3

In this year the 3rd year students of my Stream got placements in few companies... But to be honest, In my state the scope for Microbiology graduates r yet not too high And moreover the B.Sc graduates rush towards abroad M.Sc courses to grab better jobs in future So the placement is not at a issue for us just after B.Sc But even then few gets into jobs and for them placements are organised

College Events

4

It was the first time for me, here The Teacher's Day celebration organised by the students of individual streams, is of high glamour... Cultural program along with a great fine was just awesome Thn comes ineter-department football and cricket matches goes on with high enthusiasm... Apart for all these comes the magnificent **SAGNIK** ... It's a whole month long pack of events occuring And ends with 2 days long special cultural programmes by college students as well as invited artists.

Fee Structure And Facilities

It's not at all an expensive college for the students from financially stable families Yet it provides grants and concessions for the seeks in their need For my Stream (B.Sc Microbiology) it charges only a fee amount of Rs. 560 per month But yes during admission the fees r a little high yet ok i.e. Rs. 8000 And for Registration it's only Rs. 250 (approx)

Fees and Financial Aid

The students of 1st year is not furnished with any scholarships They r only granted concessions in the regards of fees by making a verification to parent's income certificate But there are few exams scheduled in following years for meritorious students that are yet not discovered by me.

Alumni/Alumna

The seniors of the college has behaved too friendly and loyal to us And even made us involve in department programs and treated us as if we r their friends and not juniors Besides they also assisted us for better ways of being habituated in this new environment and obviously a new subject

Admission

Form fill up at online... Followed by application fee submition at an well esteemed bank... As the list was posted to college website... I waited for counseling dates... Later they provided the date and I reached the college for the last few formalities...

Faculty

4

The faculties are mostly Post_doctrate And a few are M.Sc graduated too But more than their own qualifications in their academic career, what I feel is the most important issues for us is how they are expertised as a teacher And yes they do... Their teaching skills, efficiency in practicals r just beyond praise. But only a few (1-2) faculties though being highly qualified is somewhat a little low on teaching efficiency And it's probably because of their age So if they could be only teaching the M.Sc students they I think it shall serve good for both us and them.

Placement Experience:

People who major in my department usually opt for masters over placement not because of this college but because overall industrial or academic opportunities are better with a pg degree. Masters from this college is not recommended as i have heard so from my seniors. Some of my seniors managed to crack competitives and secure MSc seats at great places. Training and Placement cell had a good coordinator previously but now its almost non existent. Companies do come and hire Bpharm, Mpharm and MSc candidates. Packages are below average. Only Nestle pays well. But if you do well you'll eventually climb up the corportate ladder. From the time i am here i have not heard of any BSc candidate getting placed. Most go for higher studies.

Placement Experience:

The average package offered for such roles ranges between ?2–3 LPA, while the highest package offered to a BSc student is around ?4 LPA, depending on skills and specialization. Overall, around 15–20% of BSc students get placed through campus drives, and many students rely on off-campus opportunities.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum was well thought out as per me but there were subjects that i found absolutely unnecessary. Subjects like history evs and clc were in no way related to my course. Coming to the main subjects Design, Printing, Photography and film and Media Training were absolutely necessary for my course and whilst the faculty for some of these subjects were really bad, some were good. It is also important to mention none of these subjects actually helped us prepare for the real world. Instead internships and freelance helped us more than these subjects could ever do. Exams were held bi monthly to keep track of what we learnt and every 6 months we had our semester exams. Overall if you want to be a media professional INTERNSHIPS AND JOBS WILL HELP YOU MORE THAN A COLLEGE WILL. I am biased on this opinion as my college didnt provide me with the correct guidance and support i needed to make it in the real world.

In case of computer science department, placement is provided at the Last year of M.sc course. Many companies like Wipro, b10x, Tata visited here. Highest package ever is three lakh per annum. 20-40% of the students got placement after completing M.Sc computer science. My plan after B.sc is to pursue MCA.

Course Curriculum Overview:

* It's all about practical knowledge, we are getting from this course and another aspect is if you wants to make your career in research or lecturer then you should go for it. *No changes required in teaching methods but if college will provide hostel facilities and campus requirement drive, then it will better for candidates.
