Course Curriculum Overview

Structural Engineering is backbone of civil engineering and it has numerous opportunities to be empolyed in the field of Engineering and Construction. Faculty members are around 25 in civil engineering department making around 1:10 faculty students ratio. Mostly faculy are PhD. Exams strictly held on time without any delay.

Class Size: 25Course Fees: INR 110000 per year

Internships Opportunities

Internship opportunities are available for all the interested students through training and placement cell of the college. College has tieup with reputed multinational companies for the internship opportunities to the students.

Placement Experience

Placement is good at graduation level, fir masters it is slightly less but it give placement opportunity for around 25-30% students. L&T, EIL, BPCL etc visit for campus placement. In Civil engineering highest package is around 16-18 lakhs. My plan is for research after doing my masters.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fee is slightly higher compared to other NITs but in masters student get MHRD stipend of Rs 12400 per month. Hostel facility not available for masters students which makes it slightly more costlier to live outside.

Campus Life

Situated in middle of the city makes campus life pretty good. Cultural fest is held in odd semesters in around November and technical fest in Even semester every year. Library is well equipped with required books, sufficient smart class rooms available. Sports facility also available. Apart from that various clubs like photography, dance etc are run by students.

Admission

Eligibility is B tech in Civil Engineering with Gate qualified and counceling is done through CCMT. Reservation rules shall be applicable as per the central government rules. Concelling is centralised for all NITs and central government university.

Placement Experience:

3rd semester student in case of pget and 7th semester student in case of get are eligible to college placement. Some 3rd year student also got internship. Company like mahindra and mahindra, alstrom, ZF group, Cummins India, Jindal stainless steel, TCE, L&T, L&T edu etc in mechanical. Highest package is around 13 lakhs and average package around 7 lakh in pget mechanical courses. 40% in case of pget mechanical. PhD after completing master degree.

Life At IIT Patna

Placement Experience:

In my batch, out of 64 MTech students only 42 got placed in which I was the one. The highest CTC offered was 59 LPA to only 3 students. My college has a dedicated training and placement cell, which focus to train students for best during placement interviews. The top visiting companies are Google, Morgan Stanley, Amazon, Flipkart, Amazon India, Infotech etc.

My experience of M.Tech

Placement Experience:

There was a hype created weeks before the placement week among students. Hustle-bustle, students preparing for the jobs in the libraries was a common sight. In my batch, Aurus Networks, Google, Amazon India, Indian Navy, Tricon Infotech, Microsoft, IDC, Indian Navy, Morgan Stanley (Mumbai), Arista Networks, Amazon( Hyderabad), Flipkart among the others visited the campus. Highest CTC was Rs. 50.76 LPA. I also participated in this week and got placed in a decent company.

To be honest, I was surprised to see such amazing placement packages from IIT Patna; it well exceeded my expectations; the best package for our batch was 40 LPA, with the average package being around 20 LPA. To be honest, IIT Patna offers the finest return on investment; it is worthwhile to be a part of IIT Patna. The college provides good placement and has a record of 100% placement. The college placement was also one of my reason to join IIT Patna. The college placement committee is helpful and members of the committee have industrial exposure so the helps us and guides us during the placement process. The highest package for our batch was around 45 LPA and the average package was around 21 LPA. I also received the package of 23 LPA. Few of my batchmates received the pre-placement offers. Companies like AG Measurematics, Bajaj Auto Ltd, DRDO, BSNL, NTPC, Hyundai Motors, Microsoft, Google, Infosys, Wipro, etc participated in the college placement drive.

In the first day the college has organized an event in the auditorium in which they had introduced us all the teachers so that we will know about the faculties and from which department they are belonging.

The tag of NIT and the location were 2 important reasonsNever had the interest in coding and always had an interest in electrical right from 12th class. Though NIT Patna was formed in 2004. It was Patna university from before. In 2004 there were only 3 branches which are core branches. So through students we got to know about the equipment in lab, faculty and resources for Electrical students. and thus decided that it would be better to do B.Tech in Electrical from NIT Patna.
