Course Curriculum Overview

3

I chose this course because I wanted the college and as per my rank I was getting it. Faculty student ration is very good, faculty knows studens by name at the end of every sem. And every semester we get new faculties. Faculties are highly qualified, teaching methods are good but vary proff to proff Term exams keeps on happening through out semester, from minors to midsemester to endsemester. There is relative grading so not that difficult to pass.

Internships Opportunities

3

There are many comapnies that provied internship like microsoft , amazon and many more the internships are less than placement offers, so very less people get intern stipend rangers from 20k per month to 2lakh per month

Placement Experience

4

from 7th sem students are eligible for placements mostly all big companies visit NITW including Microsoft, Amazon, Oracle, GoldmanSachs and many more Highest package last year was 88Lpa domestic, avg is around 20-22 lpa...this is form SDE profile Mostly all eligible students get placed, but may get low package of 9-10lpa

Fees and Financial Aid

NITs have less cost of study compared to other engineering colleges, around 6 lakhs for 4 years. There is a financial aid, you can read in NITW website 1-5 lakh family income people have to pay 1/3rd of tution fees below 1 lakh have to pay no tution fees

Campus Life

3.5

Campus like is good. We have Spring Spree as cultural and Technozion as Tech fest. one is conducted every sem. there are lots and lots of books in library, very big library we have projectors in classroom, some classes have ACs , good seating sports is good, college has 1 stadium and 1 more ground and mostly all type of sports nets and courts there are many clubs run by students some famous one are IG, NSS

Hostel Facilities

3.5

2 people live in one room, for all years meal quality is good, hyginic but taste is not good food is costed 115 a day, which include lunch, dinner , breakfast pgs are not needed, hostels are good and not allowed too

Admission

Securing a seat at NITW wasn't just about acing an exam, it was a straegic maneuver through a well defined process. My journey began with the Joint entrance examination (JEE), the doke gateway to BTech admission. The application process, accesssible through the NTA website , is fairly straightforward, through staying updated on a crucial dates is key. Thankfully, my meticulous prepration landed me a score securing my entry to coveted Metallurgicall and Material science program. Eligibility for my course demanded passing class 12th with physics, chemistry, and maths as a mandatory subject, accompanied by min aggreate of 75%. Reservation benifit , a becon of hope for diverse section, offered valuable relaxation in cut-off for SC/ST?OBC category. If I could modify the process, I'd advocate for more interactive practice platforms and an emphasis on aptitude assessments alongside technical.

Other Applied Colleges

NIT Trichy | Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Metallurgical and Materials Engineering)

There was no branch change option in this college, but now there is no option in NITW too.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I like that the course doesn't feel outdated. Along with the regular subjects we spend a lot of time on coding, projects, and problem solving so it feels connected to what companies actually expect. As a second year student i already feel like i am building skills that i will be able to use during internships and placements and not just preparing for semester exams

Placement Experience:

No batch has graduated yet so there's no record of placement data yet. But more than 200 students got internships. Also the unique point of NIAT is students gets internships from their 1st year itself. NIAT has connection in the industry also its unique teaching style, this allows 1st year students to get internships. Although there is no pass out batch yet, still many people got placed in good companies.

Course Curriculum Overview:

My college course curriculum is outdated .As im studying in computer science and engineering,i wpuld love to study about technological aspects and grow as a software engineering but in the course curriculam they teach my about mechanical workshops,There were no practical experience it jsut understanding the concept with theoritical part . i would love lo code but my college wastes entire time by helping with electricals, meachanical basics. i dont think is it really necessary for me understand in all the feilds they think that student should perform in all the fields as im in computer science and engineering student ,They should teach me more about coding and computer ,how it industries works and how these technology enhacning ,the arenot even explore about all these sectos they only teaching me about fundametals of all the subjects which is never useful for my studies . as i am in final year of btech i thought learning and deepdiving into computerscience and engineering subjects is more greater than learning all sector fundamentals,The area they need to improve is removing some of the oudated syllabus from their ciricullum and enhcing with the pratical experience not to teach only theoritical part. they have to teach all the areas with realtime examples. The timings of exams is very good .we do have 2 mid exams and one semester final exams for each sem and the subjects feels meduim level difficulty

Placement Experience:

The placements are comparatively more in this college, as there is more industry exposure. Students are eligible for placements from around 3-2 (3rd yr-II sem) to 4-2 (4th yr- II sem). Companies like Amazon, Cognizant, NCR often visit the campus. The highest package offered last year was 1.2 cr (International offer). Around 90% students who were eligible got placement. My plan is to get a decent package after the degree.

Placement cell is least active.. Few good companies like Infosys, amazon, TCS etc visited but the average package is of 1-2 LPA and only 25-30% of students whose all exams are cleared can sit in the placement cell. The highest package is of 8LPA. My plan is to move abroad for higher studies.. The students after completion of 6th sem can sit in placement cell

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for campus placements after their 6th semester. The companies start visiting in 7th and 8th semesters. The companies are not much good and are mostly service based. So the placement statistics are also not much good. The highest placement last year was 10 lpa and the median placement was around 4.1 lpa. The placements were starting from 2.5 lpa. The better option for students is to apply for off-campus placements or start preparing for competitive exams
