Remarks

The infrastructure is not upto the mark and can be improved. Sports facilities are very less and can be improved too.

Entrance Preview

I took 5-6 examinations. Kcet, comedk and JEE mains were amongst them. Now being just an average student, I couldn't clear JEE mains and got a rank of nearly 23k in kcet and 10.5k in comedk. I was getting atria institute of technology from kcet in the 3rd round. Also, I was getting Rns institute of technology from comedk in the 3rd round. That's how I got this college.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course is old. That's what I can say as of now. But they're changing the course. Bringing in topics that are new and updated technologies. In my branch, i.e., information science, as of now we have programming languages c, python and java. There is not much emphasis on research here.

Internships Opportunities

Yes, my college provides internships in some companies like juspay. The stipend usually varies from Rs. 10,000 to Rs. 25,000.

Placement Experience

4

The placements are another area where the college scores good. The average package goes around 4LPA. The highest package has been 27LPA this year. Few big companies like Microsoft, HP and Infosys visit the campus and take quite a good number of students. Microsoft this year alone took around 17 students at a package of 11LPA and 18LPA.

College Events

3

We have quite a number of events and fests in our college. We have inter and intra-college fests celebrated every alternate year. As of 2018, we had inter college fest "pantheon" and had vh1 supersonic concert on the 2nd day of the fest. There are also departmental fests which are held in even semesters.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is pretty much feasible. The comedk fee is lower than many colleges. For me it was around 2lakhs. For many other colleges, it goes to around 2.1-2.3 lakhs. The best thing is nearly all the costs are covered in your fee like lab uniform cost, university exam fee, etc. In most colleges that I've friends in, I've heard they get charged extra for these things.

Fees and Financial Aid

Scholarships are given to few meritorious students from backward classes and wards of defence personals working in Karnataka.

Campus Life

3.5

Campus life is good and not many rules are imposed on students other than basic discipline. Gender ratio can be considered to be good in branches like CSE, ISE, and ECE. However, mechanical does not have a very good gender ratio as there are only 1-2 girls in a branch of 170+ boys. Workshops on programming are held by Google and IEEE. Many cultural clubs are present in the college like acting club, dance team, fashion team, etc.

Hostel Facilities

3

Hostel facilities can be considered just fine for many students. Some taps don't work. Water is available at all times and the other basic facilities are fine if not very good. The food can be considered good if you're starting but it'll bore you after 1 or 2 months as the menu is the same every week. There are many PG's available around the college. The cost goes to around 5-6k considering all the costs including food.

Alumni/Alumna

If you're good in approaching your seniors, you may find your them to be quite helpful. Many seniors you may find are very friendly and would be happy to help if you ask them of something.

Exam Structure

The exams structure can be considered to be made for an average student. There is 3 internals in total, 1 in every month. The external exams have lab exams as well as theory exams. Some amount of time is given for both to study. The lab externals are held nearly 2 weeks before the theory exams. The only problematic thing is VTU itself. This university will postpone dates of exams at any time. Even if you have an exam tomorrow, it might get postponed.

Admission

Got into this college from comedk. I had a rank of 10.5k. Didn't expect that there would be a 3rd round too and was ready to take information science in NMIT. But in the last few days, they announced there will be 3rd round. The cutoffs jumped nearly 4-5k from last year. The form for comedk can be filled online. The process of admission thereafter is smooth.

Faculty

4.5

The faculty is the biggest pro of my college. Rnsit has some of the best faculties in bangalore and can give tough competition to the best colleges in bangalore. Every teacher has an M.Tech in their respective course and many of them have a PhD. The teaching is extremely good and teachers are very well qualified.

Placement Experience:

Placements at RNS Institute of Technology are good. Students become eligible for campus placements from the 6th or 7th semester. Many companies visit the college, including IT and core companies. Some of the common recruiters include TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Accenture, and a few core companies for EEE. The average package is around 3 to 5 LPA, and higher packages are also offered for top-performing students. The highest package can go much higher depending on the company. Around 70–80% of students get placed, mainly in IT roles. For EEE students, core placements are limited, but there are good opportunities in software roles. The college also provides training and support for placements. After completing my degree, I plan to get placed in a good company and build my career.

Placement Experience:

Most of the students get placed from the campus placements. Students get eligible for campus placements from the fifth semester. Companies like HP, Infosys, Wipro come for recruiting and make offers from 3L per annum to 30 L per annum. Around 70 percent of the students get placed through campus placement. I plan on working for a dream company after completing my degree.

Placement Experience:

I applied to colleges like BMSIT and Sir MVIT, and I had confirmed seats there, too. I chose RNSIT because it has a better reputation for placements in my branch and the campus environment felt more welcoming. I didn't get into RVCE because my KCET rank wasn't high enough for their top branches, as the competition was very tough that year. The admission process is simple. They mainly take students through KCET and COMEDK. You need at least 45% in your 12th boards (PCM). Most students prefer KCET because the fees are lower. Once the seat is allotted through counseling, you just visit the campus, submit your documents, and pay the fees. The whole process was quite smooth and well-organized."

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is very unique, and very new, we are not taught irrelevant subjects and topics like every university does, Polaris school of technology (PST) is a new gen college which mainly focuses on tech, producing the best engineers not amongst india but amongst the world, it's aim is to produce engineers who are better than IITians and MITians, all these specifications influenced me to choose this course/curriculum When it comes to real-world applications, Polaris school of technology(PST) gives us real-life problems and scenario based projects through evaluations which help us in the future and helps us to build a proper approach for problems and train us to be the best. We have two main exams per sem which would be conducted every 3 months that is ½th of the sem, we have a total of 8 sems, so total 16 exams, our exams would be difficult for other college students, but not for us as we have the best mentors.
