Course Curriculum Overview
My dream is to become a Police officer and to complete my graduation without any irregularities, I proudly opted for civil engineering. Since it's a reputated government engineering college, be assured, here the qualifications of most professors are doctorate/Phd holders and that too with the proper student-to-teacher ratio. Ya, one thing that, most trainees/new faculty are not so good in interaction with students may be some of your concepts will shake. Talking about exams, In each Semester there will be two Unit tests and one-semester test. It follows a simple rule, if you have studied sincerely, then exam fear is not for you, no setting with any teacher will be going to help you. Now talking about study material. Our college has a central library which spreads over 1100 sq. m. area, has a collection of approx 4 lac books. Central Library is a member of DELNET and various bodies like ASME, ASCE, IEEE etc. Besides this, each department has its own departmental library.
Internships Opportunities
Our college motivates the students for internships and provides them with adequate knowledge and surroundings to prepare well for it. The internship programs are like Aicte Internship, Niti aayog internships, Internshala, LetsIntern and many more well-known as well as startups ranging with stipends from 2k to 30k~40k per month. few internships are unpaid also.
Placement Experience
Basically, the eligibility criteria are almost the same in most colleges which is that the students became eligible for internship at the end of the 4th sem and for campus placement at time of end of the 6th sem. The below details will be a little bit confusing because of the lack of space: For Session 2021-22: The highest placement offered was from Google of 64 LPA to 2 students, The lowest was offered by BGCCPL of 1.68 LPA to 18 students. The Avg placement was 6 LPA.
Fees and Financial Aid
As discussed earlier, it is funded by the state government, so the fee is neither very high nor very low, in fact, the hostel fee is just 9600 per year. If you are planning for a day scholar then the total cost is 61800 and if you are planning for a hostel then the combined fee is going to be 71400. Mess fees have to be submitted separately which is 16000 per semester. 1) U.P SCHOLARSHIP:- a) General/Backward class: If your family income is less than 2 Lacs per financial year you are eligible for a scholarship which is between 55~60 thousand every year. b) If you belong to the SC/ST/other minority category and your family annual income is less than 2.5 L then you are eligible for a scholarship upto 1.05 lacs
Campus Life
The campus life is awesome, you will enjoy every part of your life along with your studies! The annual fest conducted here is known as Mahotsav and Abhinandan(for freshers, this year in November). let's dive in brief, The names of committees, I have explored yet are:- Literary Sub-council, Sports Sub-council (almost every indoor and outdoor game), Now let's see a few cultural and tech programs which are as: Aeroworks, coders cup, Fine arts, Design and Innovative A few Insta handles are: @fah_subcouncil_biet @cultural_sub_council_biet @biet_fc @literary_subcouncil_bietjhs
Hostel Facilities
The institute has 6 hostels (4 for Boys and 2 for girls) with accommodation capacity of 1600 persons. Each hostel is provided with Wi-fi facility upto 100 MBPS connection (generally we get 5~6 Mbps) and is equipped with indoor game room, TV Room, Water cooler with RO system and Generator. In every room, we get a chair, a table, a bed and an almirah per person, equipped with Led bulbs and 2/3 fan. The hostel fee is very affordable which is only ?9600 per year! Now lets talk about mess: The mess charge is ?16000 pet semester and we get variety of food, 4 times a day (Break fast, lunch dinner along with snacks and tea in evening). but i am quite dissatisfied with the quality of food they provide because of the hygienic conditions which is not very poor but also not very good. The current menu of hostel is like On Sunday:- Bread pakoda(in breakfast), Kadhi; sabji; roti; rice; dal and salad (in lunch) , Tea and toast (in evening) , Chole; bhature along with onion and pickles (in dinner).
Admission
BIET is affiliated with Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam University (AKTU) and we have to appear for the JEE mains exam for technical courses and CUET for management, vocational and other courses, both exams are conducted by NTA. After then we have to register for UPTAC counselling whose application fee is 1000. The counselling lasts for around a month and consists of 4 rounds, 1 internal sliding and 2 spot rounds, if you get a seat according to your choice then have to pay a sum of 20000 as a seat acceptance fee, and for any case you think for withdrawal then for everyone participated round 5000 will be deducted and remaining will be refunded. If you are satisfied with your seat then freeze the seat and go for physical reporting and cheers Vertical: [OBC(27%), SC(21%) & ST(2%)] Horizontal: {UPFF(2%), UPAF(5%), UPHC(3%), UPGL(20%)}. You will also get an advantage of 3% if you belong to a rural area. You are not eligible for the spot round if you get any seat in previous rounds
Other Applied Colleges
Kamla Nehru Institute of Technology - [KNIT] | Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Civil Engineering)
No doubt both colleges are same in terms of placement and colleagues but i prefer Biet as because it has better campus, infrastructure, peaceful as well as largest campus area in comparison to Knit and i love to remain attached with nature and greeneries,
