Course Curriculum Overview
I chose the course of computer science engineering because I love diving into new technologies. Also, placements for this course are much better compared to other courses offered in our college. The course curriculum is outdated and needs a reformation and the students have to make themselves industry-ready. The student-faculty ratio is decent in this college, however, the qualification of the faculty is not on par. There are some awesome faculty in the college but the number is low. The term exams are timely and are pretty easy to pass.
Internships Opportunities
The internship opportunities are not very good. There are not many companies that visit for summer internships. In our batch companies like Solitary Infosys, IBM visited but they were all charging money for internships and it was more of training rather than internship.
Placement Experience
The placements in this college are decent for the computer science branch. The average placement for the computer science branch is about 3-4 lakh per annum. The students become eligible for placements from the 7th semester. The TPO cell of our college however is very hard working. Various companies have visited: On campus (Chegg, Cloud Analogy, Hike education, Learning Routes) and Off Campus( TCS, Byjus). The average placement offered was 4 lakh. About 50-60% of students from the computer science branch get placed.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee structure is good in this college. The fee is taken in two installments i.e. at the start of each semester. The total fee for the course is 46000 rupees. The first installment is 30,700 rupees and the second installment is about 15,900 rupees. The fee has been hiked by about a thousand rupees. The total cost of studying including course fees, hostel fees, and mess fees is around 82000 per year which makes this college very affordable. A lot of scholarships are also provided on campus some of which are the PMS Scholarship, the Pragati scheme for girls.
Campus Life
The life on Campus is a decent one. The Annual fest is organized as well freshers party and Farewell party is organized. The library is small in size, it is only a decent-sized room. The classrooms are also decent. There are ACs but there are fans in classrooms. The chairs and tables are of decent quality. The extra-curricular activities on the campus are less and do not happen regularly. There are about 2 sports events that happen annually and for that too college does not provide funds and teachers and students have to fund these activities themselves. The extra-curricular activities also do not happen regularly.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel is affordable. The annual fee of the hostel is 12000 taken in two installments. The first installment when the hostel is allotted to first-year students is 10,100 rupees of which 4000 rupees is a security deposit that is refunded after the student leaves the hostel. The hostel is allotted in the first year, one just has to fill out the application form. The hostel accommodation is provided to students only till 3rd year after which students have to rent out a room in the final year as there are not enough rooms to accommodate all students. The girl's hostel although have excellent facilities with very good infrastructure. The quality of the mess is decent. Mess is affordable with a per day charge of 90 rupees. The food is provided 3 times a day. The locality however is not very safe and the locals here are not very friendly. There are not enough places to go around and have fun. However, it is affordable to live if you rent a room.
Admission
To be eligible for admission here, one should have completed their 12th in the science field and the admission is done based on percentile scored in the JEE MAINS. The admission is done through the HSTES website where admission is done based on percentile in JEE MAINS and the preference of college. The application fee was 10,000 rupees, which gets adjusted in the fees of the college that you are allotted. I availed the reservation benefits which allowed me to get into this college with a rank of above 2 lakh in JEE Mains.
