Course Curriculum Overview
I was from an agriculture background and I did my graduation from agriculture. After completing my b.sc I cleared CUET with some good marks and I got selected in this program. I am interested in this program because this program is equivalent to the extension programs that are conducted by the vicar colleges. In future I want to work as an extension worker and this program was giving me the platform that I need. There are a total of 6 faculties present in the department and 5 staff and the ratio of student and teacher is 1:3 . All the teachers are highly qualified and they all have completed their p.hd from a very well-known university and one net qualified teacher is also present in the department. The department is well organized and clean and all the teachers are very punctual and the term exams are also done from time to time there is no such difficulty finding to clear the exams, all you need is to study 3-4 hours daily.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee structure is very nominal and is affordable by any of the students as it is a central university run by the Indian government itself. The yearly fee is around 4700 for two semesters and the total fee is around 9000 for 2 year programs. There is no placement given by the department and the university.
Campus Life
There were a few annual fests and tech fests that happened in my 1-year journey in this college, Ananta fest was one of them and a good fest happened last time. The central library is quite good and the books and journals are available from time to time. Classrooms are also good and the amenities that are required for a classroom like a projector, and speakers are present in the classroom for a smart class. Annual and social sports happen in the college from time to time and teachers and other staff coordinate with the students timely.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel facilities are quiet good. The b.sc students are shared with 3 people in a room and the m.sc students share with 2 people in a room. And the p.hd scholars have private rooms and a separate hostel in the campus. The food quality is good but the mess fee is quiet high. If you wabt get the admission in the hostel then you have to fill a hostel form and the allotment will be done on the basis of your 13th marks or on the basis of your graduation marks. The pg available in nearby college areas are highly rented and room availability is quite low in the area.
Admission
First, you have to complete your bachelor's via Agriculture or horticulture. Then you have to fill CUET form for post-graduation. Then you have to clear the CUET exam. After getting the result of CUET you have to log in Hemvati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal University portal after registering. Then you have to choose the subjects according to your choices and then you have to pay 80rs per course. After that, you have to wait for the cutoff list. You can check the cutoff list on the university site regularly, they upload the cutoff list regularly. After getting selected they will call you and they will tell you to pay the admission fee which was around 4600 in this course. There are reserved seats also present in this course. Generally, students who applied in this course are from the agriculture and horticulture department and this course is equivalent to extension courses that are conducted by ICAR colleges. The syllabus is also the same in this course.
